Our April Trip

Just returned from 8 days in Branson during which we saw 9 shows. All were good, though I'd have to say some were better than others.
Started with the Joey Riley Benefit. Great show that displayed what makes Branson what it is.
That night we attended Grand Jubilee. Another good one for sure, though I miss Tod Bradshaw. I also didn't think New South was quite as sharp as I've seen them in the past. Band is still great though.
Next night we attended Clay Cooper's show. It was a great one with several unexpected surprises.
The next after noon we went to Rock, Roll & Reminisce. Glad to see Dave and Shane added a band. They were great on their rock & roll numbers. Also enjoyed Heather's many songs and dresses.
That night we were at the Presley's and it too was as good as usual. Liked the Jay and Devona duet.
Next morning we were at Down Home Country. Really enjoyed it, especially Melody, and Jamee Hagee's vocals and steel guitar were great additions.
We also saw New Jersey Nights - okay, but not one we'll return to.
That night we were at the Larry's Country Diner/Joey & Rory show. Great performance. I wish I lived closer to attend more of them. Packed house and very appreciative audience.
On our last day we went to Branson Meadows Cinema for "42" - great show and to the Branson Late Night show at the Grand Music Hall. This was the biggest entertainment bargain we found and IMHO it was one of the top shows we saw. Melody and Jackie were spectacular in their duets - especially "The Tennessee Waltz", as was Jaime Hagee. His rendition of George Jones's "He Stopped Loving Her Today" and Gene Watson's "14 Karat Mind" were great.
Counting the days until I return.

Very interesting. I guess we need a uniform to wear so fellow posters would notice. Glad you got to enjoy the shows too.

I sure enjoyed reading your review. You saw many of the shows that I like. We really like the Late Night Show also. Hope to see it twice on our next Branson trip.

I hope to see the late night show this Friday night. Does anyone know who the guest is going to be?

Will do that! Better yet, just hang around Branson a little longer & attend the late show yourself!

We too were in Branson last week and saw these great shows: Pierce Arrow, Oak Ridge Boys, Joey & Rory/Larry's Diner. Doug Gabriel,Yee Haw.and Clay Cooper. We were disappointed that Clay didn't say anything about Joey Riley. I'm sure he had his reasons. We try to go Branson twice a year, but every time we go we see more and more of our favorite shops close. Shopping isn't as much fun as it use to be....

Clay's not mentioning Joey surprised us some too when we were at his show, but he had immersed himself in all of it Saturday during the benefit.
