If you’d be so inclined, I would sincerely appreciate prayers for a successful total right knee replacement on Monday, the 20th, and a recovery that isn’t as bad as the horror stories I am reading about on Facebook Groups! Thank you.

Praying for you. When I had my shoulder surgery I had been on Facebook groups and some of what I read scared me. I think one doesn't see the good experiences as those people don't tend to post. Keep positive, you can do this! And you'll be so glad you did!

I know two people that have had knee replacements recently. Both are very happy that they had it done. Rehab was tough but gave amazing results.

Surgery is tomorrow morning at Barnes West County Hospital. I’m just less than 1/2 hour from there, and this “non--morning person“ has to check in at 5:15 AM!! Thank you for all of the prayers. They mean a lot to me! Keep them going, please.

Thank you so much for the continued prayers! They are always welcome and needed. I’m three weeks out now and progress has been made, though slowly. I must say that I have been through several very serious abdominal surgeries and other health crises in my life, and total knee replacement surgery has got to be one of the hardest recoveries. It’s such a comfort to know that there are friends out there pulling for you.

I know it will be a while, but I do have hope of returning for more Branson visits in the future.

A little word of advice for those contemplating having it done now or later, don’t wait as long as I did. I do believe it would have been easier had I done this 10 years ago!

It seems the older one becomes, the more one wishes for a "Cocoon" type of event to actually exist...

I remember watching that movie in my early 20's...thinking, this is silly, what's the big deal?

But now...yea...I get it....just WHERE is that swimming pool to be found?

Thank you very much! I will see one of the greatest accomplishments when I can again drive my car. Some can do it rather quickly, but I don’t feel the reactions of my right leg/foot from accelerator to brake are quick and strong enough. The knee is still stiff and painful.

You are getting to close to one month post op. I know it seems like forever, but soon you'll feel able to drive yourself. (With my shoulder, I waited 9 weeks since it was my right arm). I have no experience with knee replacement but I bet in another 4 weeks you will see such improvement. Wishing you all the best!

Thanks KJN! Since it’s my right knee, I am not planning to rush the driving either. My recuperation may be going slower than some, but it is going, and that’s the important thing to me. As my physical therapist told me Monday, “remember you’ve had two bones broken in your leg“. This upcoming Monday is my first visit back to the surgeon since the operation.
