The show is described as an interactive production, a visual and audio tour around the world featuring the music, dances and vistas of several of the most beautiful countries of the world. The second half shows the diversity of several different styles of American music. The production presents the versatility and virtuosity of the accordion through songs such as Danny Boy, White Cliffs of Dover, Lady of Spain, Can Can, Santa Lucia, Zorba the Greek, Sabre Dance, Malaguena, Tea for Two, Aaron Copland’s Hoe Down, Old Time Religion, Rock Around the Clock, and God Bless America.

Darren Romeo is extending some Branson-style hospitality to ticket holders of Andy Williams-Charo shows through April 26. The Moon River theatre announced yesterday that Andy & Charo’s spring season opening shows from April 19 through April 26 have been cancelled due to illness. Darren Romeo is offering complimentary admission to his show at the Welk Resort Theatre to ticket holders of the cancelled Andy Williams-Charo performances. The invitation is valid thru April 26, 2007. Ticket holders must present their tickets to the cancelled Andy-Charo performances to qualify for free admission to Siegfried & Roy present Darren Romeo through April 26.

Branson’s newest show, “Island Fire,” will be opening in the Dutton Family Theatre next week. The Polynesian style show will share the history, culture, and traditions of Polynesia and Samoa with its Branson audiences. The honorable Hans Joachim Keil, a member of the Parliament of Samoa, who is visiting in Branson this week, indicated the top notch cast was selected through the Samoan Tourist Authority and, among other exciting and entertaining acts, will feature a world champion Samoan Fire Knife Dancer. Performances are scheduled for 8 p.m. during its opening week and 2 p.m. for the remainder of the season. The Ultimate Elvis Tribute Artist Contest in Branson will take place at the Legends in Concert Theatre beginning Wednesday, June 13 and run weekly through July 11, 2007. The winner of the Branson finals will travel to Memphis, TN to compete in the national finals for the title of Ultimate Elvis Tribute Artist of the year. The Brett Family Show will open their season on April 10, 2007 at 10am. The Brett Family is excited to begin their 9th season in Branson. They will be performing at the Legends Family Theatre Monday thru Friday during April and Monday thru Saturday in May and September 3 through December 12, 2007.
To commemorate the 95th anniversary of the sinking of the Titanic, the TITANIC Museum Attraction is hosting a FCC-licensed worldwide ham radio event beginning at 8a.m., Saturday April 14, and concluding at 7p.m. Sunday, April 15. Ham operators from the Nixa Amateur Radio Club will transmit from Branson to Belfast, Ireland and around the world with special event call sign W0S, in honor of the wireless operators aboard Titanic. A talent search event that has launched more Country Music stars than any other competition is coming to Branson’s Welk Resort Theatre on Friday, April 13. Country Music superstar Pam Tillis will host a first-round competition of the Colgate Country Showdown on April 13 at 8 p.m. KHOZ Radio 102.9 in Harrison, Arkansas is partnering with the Welk Resort Theatre to present the April 13 event. Between 8 and 10 contestants will perform live, backed by Pam Tillis’Nashville/touring band. General admission to the live event is $10.
