The Tri-Lakes Community Theatre will be presenting Arthur Millers, classic drama tragedy, “The Crucible” at Dick Clark’s American Bandstand Theatre on 16-18 and again on Feb. 23-25.
The Branson is an area blessed with talent and it’s not all musical talent. The Tri-Lakes Community Theatre will be presenting Arthur Millers, classic drama tragedy, “The Crucible” at Dick Clark’s American Bandstand Theatre.
Written in 1952, the play is based on the events involved with the 1692 witch trials in the puritan town of Salem. With the full range of emotions it portrays, its plot, historical base, and the range of topics it covers, everything from infidelity to revenge, and murder the play is considered one of the best of the “modern era.”
Performances will be on Feb. 16-18 and again on Feb. 23-25. The Friday and Saturday performances will be at 7 p.m. and the Sunday performances at 2 p.m. Tickets are $14 for adults and $7 for students.

Branson’s Hughes Brothers Celebrity Theatre is pleased to announce that the “Best of Motown”, previously appearing at the Bart Rocket Theatre, will be calling the Hughes Brothers Celebrity Theatre home beginning Wednesday, February 14. The “Best of Motown” is a non stop musical trip through the music of the legendary Motown artists like Four Tops, The Temptations, Marvin Gaye and many others. According to reports, “their rich vocals, tight harmonies, and high energy” of this incredible group wowed them at American Bus Association’s Annual Market Place meeting in Grapevine, Texas on Jan. 30 as part of the great show put on for the attendees at this national event by the Branson Lakes Area Chamber of Commerce and CVB. The “Best of Motown” will be performing Tuesdays - Saturdays at 5:00 pm beginning Feb. 14. Dinner before the show will also be available beginning April 1
Ricky Boen and Texas Mud have announced that they will be appearing in Branson at The Hamner Barber Theater in 2007 starting with their season opening on April 9. The current schedule has them doing shows at 9:30 a.m. Monday through Fridays through Dec. 14. In addition to some great fiddle playing and “Texas Swing” it looks like it will have great comedy and variety.
The 2nd Annual Polar Bear Plunge will be held on February 17, 2007. Brave men and women from around the area will don costumes and swimwear and take “polar” dips into Table Rock Lake. Their Reason for Freezin’ . . . the athletes of Special Olympics Missouri! All proceeds from the event benefit the organization.
The Polar Bear Plunge is open to anyone 14 years or older who is willing to “bear” the elements for a good cause. The event is hosted by Troop D of the Missouri State Highway Patrol and will take place at the Still Waters Resort on Indian Point, Saturday, February 17, 2007. Day-of registration begins at noon, the Parade of Costumes is at 2 p.m., and the Plunge starts promptly at 2:30 p.m. No wet suits are allowed and shoes are required.
The 2:00 pm Comedy Jamboree will be presenting Area Appreciation February 5 – 10. Admission is $5 for residents of Taney, Stone, Christian, Greene, Barry, Lawrence, Polk and Webster Counties in Missouri. Carroll, Boone, Marion and Baxter Counties in Arkansas. The 13th Annual Hot Winter Fun Big Show will be held on Monday, Feb. 12 at 7 p.m., at the new RFD-TV Theatre in Branson, Missouri. Attendees will be able to sample such a wide variety of shows and performers in one exciting show. The show features segments of numerous shows that are open during the winter months of January, February, and March – and throughout the entire year in Branson.
