In a unanimous vote the Branson Board of Aldermen voted, at their May 29, 2007, meeting, to stop the city’s pursuit of the claims that the city of Branson owned the rights to the term “Branson.” In a battle started with the “Pearl Harbor” of legal letters, city attorney Paul Link’s letter of September 15, 2006, the city of Branson, with the approval of the old board, launched an ill fated campaign to try to exert control over the term “Branson.” The newly elected board members and mayor were instrumental in reversing the city’s position.
