Destin, FL - has anyone from here been there?

My niece is having a destination wedding in Destin in March. Has anyone been to Destin and have suggestions regarding restaurants, attractions, etc.? We are renting a condo (although not right on the ocean). I am not looking forward to the 10-hour drive from SW Illinois, however. I wanted to fly there, but hubby is afraid of heights and won't step onboard an airplane. Thanks for any suggestions!

Haaven't been to Destin in a while. But there were lots of great places to eat when we were there before
AJ's Seafood and Oyster Bar is one of my favorites. Along with the Crab Trap.
Fudpucker's is a lot of fun, and good burgers. It's kinda touresty, hut what isn't in Destin.
The Back Porch is another great place.

Make sure you drive 30A highway along the beaches for the coolest area ever! One little town melts into another little beach front town.
Great way to spend an entire day.
I think my favorites are Seaside, a model town, that was the location of the movie The Truman Show, and Rosemary Beach which has THE best Farmers Market ever.
You are going to have a great time in Destin, Diane. The swanky high end Outlet Malls are fabulous.
The Emerald Water and walkable beaches are terrific.
HarborWalk Villiage is a great indoor/outdoor place to shop, eat, watch the boats and discover new things.
