Restaraunts/eateries closing

Noticed last night that Applebees has closed, and according to the sign NOT going to reopen..?

So what other dining joints have we lost to this "pandemic"..

I know of at least 2.

Applebees
Jimmy Johns near the Landing.

who else?

If you read the sign, I guess that means you are in town for a visit. Was the Branson Applebee's a corporate location or a franchise?

Just from reading the newspaper, I know that some chains are permanently closing locations around the country that were considered marginal/lower volume before the virus. Little Rock has had some permanent closings of chain locations.

In town really dependent on tourism like Branson, I can see a lot of restaurants not reopening, unfortunately.

surprised about applebees,

a lot of entertainers went there after hours for drinks/eats after hours... only place on 76 that you could do that..

Not to mention the Brand and tourists going in there.

according to news reports Applebees, Ruby Tuesday's places that rely on alcohol and sit down service are the most apt to go under, bar service is going to be one of the last things to open and people are expected to shy away from sit down restaurants. another chain name mentioned (not by any location including Branson) just a chain in trouble is Steak and Shake.

I get an email from Ruby Tuesday every day with the deal of the day (instead of the 2 I used to get every week). The email says they have beer and wine to go with your food. Most of the Chili's emails I get also mention beer and wine to go with your meal.

Smile Restaurants in Branson

I went by Applebee's today and didn't see any sign saying they're closing permanently. I may very well have missed it though. However, there were cars there and signs for curbside pickup.
As far as Jimmy John's, their sign dated April 15th, did say that they were closed permanently.
There are still lots of great local restaurants offering curbside pickup. As much as I like some of the big chain restaurants I am trying to support our local restaurants during this unusual period.

Not surprised to see the Landing Jimmy John's closing, they were having problems before all of this happened.
