About 11.7 miles. Not all that much traffic, but that may change in the near future. As ggh stated, it is hilly and curvy, but in good condition.
All in all, it seems to be a good choice for a detour.

FYI - I took this route on Monday morning to AD/Sunshine (vs. going all the way to 60 which would have taken me way south of my destination) - and it was lightly traveled, with no 18 wheelers when I was on it. It wasn't much further via miles but it added THIRTY minutes to my travel time!

I took a different route this morning that put me into more traffic, but only added about 10 minutes to my route.

I have been watching the progress of Southbound 65 closely - and I am impressed with the speed in which the work is being accomplished.
