Anyone have a good site for real time water temperature? My handy dandy meat thermometer was reading in the 50's last weekend.

I use a swimming pool thermometer for surface temp. I will try to remember to check it one of these days.

64° a couple times.

2-2.5" rain in the Branson area, but it's been slow and steady. 2.5" in our gauge. More in NW AR.

Beaver and TRL are showing just a slight up-tick.

Table Rock looked noticeably low when I was in Branson a couple weeks ago. Baring unusually heavy winter precipitation the cushion should be good for the Spring rains.

Actually, nicely stable. It is virtually the same as I posted 10/12:

12OCT2018 1400 912.28

The 3-lake cushion is 71 feet, 39 of it in Bull Shoals.

I realize the lakes are not just for recreational purposes, but there are hundreds of docks on TRL, so a stable lake saves a lot of time and hassle (not) moving them. Maintaining docks is also a concern/worry, and nice weather and a stable lake level provides peace of mind.

People also get injured, or worse, maintaining docks, so the less it has to be done, the less chance of that.

12/15/18: 54° now. Water is clear-ish.

From Ozarkanglers.com

[QUOTE][The end of these seasons are marked by what we call "Table Rock turning over." This is when surface water on Table Rock cools and becomes colder than the water below it. Eventually a majority of this surface water cools down enough that it causes a flip --- the water on top sinks down, forcing water towards the bottom up to the surface. In time, sometimes it takes a week or more, all the water mixes and becomes uniform. The water at 130 feet deep at the dam where Taney gets its water improves to the point the U.S. Corps of Engineers doesn't have to add liquid oxygen to water passing through the turbines, and restrictions are lifted as to how much water can be run at one time.

We are at the end of that season. Table Rock's water has mixed to the point as of last Friday that the water coming into Taneycomo measures 3.45 parts per million, up from <1.p.p.m.. When this process starts, it continues until the water is fully mixed. As I type this report, I suspect that 3.45 reading has gone even further up and will continue for the next week or so./QUOTE]

Dissolved oxygen.
Quote:
Dissolved oxygen definition
Dissolved oxygen. Definition. noun. The amount of free oxygen dissolved in water, expressed in mg/L, parts per million (ppm), or in percent of saturation, i.e. where saturation pertains to the maximum amount of oxygen that can be dissolved theoretically in water at a particular altitude and temperature
This is the water coming into Taneycomo from the bottom of Table Rock. Meaning the oxygen rich surface water is mixing with the oxygen depleatec water at the bottom.

A number of red cedars blown over along Acacia Club road down the hill from Taney County rt 160. A number of limbs cracked off the Bradford Pear tree in our front yard. Electric was out for a few hours. Otherwise came through well.

Wind damage at D'Monaco Resort at the Long Creek Bridge, and some docks upside down, with boats still in them, under water.

I just got connected down here, and one of the first emails I opened was from another board user, and nearby lake neighbor, who reported the monsoon and cold temperatures that hit after we left.

So, I have been concerned . . . but I feel I left the docks in competent hands.

Speaking of driving, I guess I would need at least a 20-hour heads-up.

Just stopped going up: 29DEC2018 0800 913.52 (12OCT2018 1400 912.28)
