From the article I can't quite figure out If the film they made is the hack job they claim it isn't. The title alone seems to indicate that. An honest look at a Branson staple, an act that came with the boom that seems to be trying to stay alive in Branson, and a couple more acts I've never heard of. Or, is it a promotion of Branson making a political shift to the left.

I'm not sure what to make of it either.
The title really threw me off.
I do know Mayor Presley was tweeting from Austin.

SXSW is a major event. Hope she picked up some pointers while she was there.

I am guessing that the title comes from the book of the same name written by Vance Randolph. He wrote many books about the Ozarks and recorded a lot of the folk songs that were quickly disappearing.

The article-ette certainly is a tease.

It's hard to tell which way the documentary goes, while strongly hinting that there definitely is an ominous way it could.

doncha think?

The Tinocos refers to Joe and Tamra. Here is when they opened in Branson, 12 years ago now:

http://www.mkoc.com/JoeTinoco/branson2.htm

I am linked to their time in Nashville, but that's all I have to say about that.

It seems to be a diverse, but limited, selection of people to study in-depth. There's hundreds of Branson entertainment personalities/stories, but you have to draw the line.

It appears they have picked a local fam that's been around from the git-go, from before Branson was just rocks, a transplanted fam that did not need Branson to be famous, cuz they already were (&, yeah, I have a family tie to them, too ), a relative newcomer fam trying to become famous in Branson, and a person who is totally out of favor with the accepted norms.

Interesting concept.

There have been a few stories about Branson written by outsiders that have been posted the last couple of days. Anyone notice similarities in them?

I'd like to watch this... I think it would be an interesting take on the side of Branson most tourists never see, or never even think of for that matter. I would hope it would be an honest take on things, but through the power of editing, you never know... I hope it comes out on digital download somewhere...
