Beautiful Missouri........
I love everyone's pictures of Missouri, and especially Branson.
Here are some pictures of my area of Missouri......I think you will love them as well. There is plenty to do and see here, not too far from Branson. A great Family Vacation spot. Anyone else, in the state with some pictures, bragging on Beautiful Missouri? Click Here For Some Beautiful Missouri Photos ![]()

Thanks Cheesecake for the beautiful pictures, they make me yearn for the Ozarks. I have traveled all over the United States
and nothing compares to the Ozarks. There is just something about them that touches my heart. I hope to retire to Branson in about 7 years God willing. |

You guys are welcome.....I live very very close to where it all begins........very close
I have been inspired by the beauty of what is hidden behind the trees, or what is around the next bend,........it just keeps unfolding, and just keeps getting prettier and more awesome as you travel along.Hubbies relatives grew up in the Welch Spring area.....near that old hospital.....such a story that is. He is truly a native native....of the settlers to this area, and to the Indians that moved on through. The Trail of Tears, runs right through my son's yard. The Civil War history of our area is amazing..........if you ever get to read *Enemy Woman* by Jiles, that is really a great Fictional Depiction of southern MO, during those times. Shannon and Ripley Counties are very well documented in that novel. Each chapter begins with NON Fiction details. *Did you know they would like to change the Trail of Tears, so it is more tourist handy.....meaning the new plaques would be placed somewhere other than the Trace itself. We are fighting them, changing HISTORY. The Current River, has History galore......and now that it is owned and operated by the Government.....you can camp at the Springs up and down the river, and have a story told to you around the campfire at night. If you love canoeing......you can start right up here, and take a short trip, or a long overnight trip......very busy river. When my husband was young, the land belonged to the farmers, right on down to the river's edge. The Goverment came in and bought out the farmer, and literally dragged him from his families Homestead.........so that the tourist could have more advantages along the river.........meaning the cows and pigs wouldnt be in the water drinking. Now guess who is in the water drinking, and doing all the same things that Pigs and Cows do.......... Im not against what they did, its how they did it. And, am not nearly as upset as the locals......as Im not originally from here. The people in Missouri, especially these folks who have lived for generations down here in this rural area..........are such wonderful solid individuals. Clannish is probably the word that best describes the people I met about 30 years ago. Times have changed, and with the influx of the retirees, and the sale of old estates...........times have changed alittle. We love it, and live on a family farm, that goes way back. Our last name is very common, and hubby is kin to everyone. Sometimes that good, he suggests, and sometimes its not..... ![]()
