Dogwood Canyon

About how long does it take to get from Branson to Lampe for the Dogwood Canyon park. We're going for the Wildlife Tram ride. The website says it's just outside Branson, but mapquest says it takes like 37 minutes to get there How long did it take you to get there?

Time to get there depends on the time of day, traffic, and the state of road construction on Highway 13.

Depending on your starting point in Branson, I would say that 35 - 45 minutes is a good estimate.

Around 40 minutes from the heart of the strip--provided traffic is not bumper to bumper. We prefer going 65 South to 86 West as opposed to going around from the west on highway 13. Either way you go is going to have curves and 30-45 mph speed limits for at least part of the way.

Ditto - traffic moves slowly because the roads aren't straight, and if you get stuck in SDC traffic you will not make it to Dogwood in 40 minutes from mid Branson.

It's worth the drive!!

If you are in Branson, anywhere near Highway 65, I suggest going south on 65 through 86. There is less of a chance of getting held up in SDC traffic. That MapQuest estimate sounds about right. It's worth the drive.

We go out there at least a couple of times a year to ride bikes. It's great to pack a lunch in a cooler to eat after you ride bikes or finish your tram tour.

I figure 45 minutes from Branson Hills to Lampe via the Highroad. Can't say I've ever had to do it at lemming time to Steal Yur Dollar City. I'm always going against the current.

Figure another ten minutes to Dogwood Canyon.

When in Branson, don't do what others do the same time others do it.

I love the west. I can go to 200 places nicer than dogwood canyon any day of the year for free and never see another human being while there.

To be safe, I'd give it an hour each way.
