Smile Low Calorie / Low Carb / Gluten-Free Foods

I recently discovered a frozen dessert called Arctic Zero; it comes in various flavors and is only 150 calories for an entire pint. I wanted to learn more about it, so I went online and discovered a store called Linda's Diet Delites that is only about 45 minutes from where I live. They sell a wide variety of very hard-to-find low calorie, low carb, and gluten-free foods including large bagels (100 calories each), a complete line of Walden Foods products (zero calorie / zero carb jams, peanut spread, salad dressings, syrups, sauces, etc.), "baked" donuts, sugar-free cannolis and mini-eclairs, high-fiber muffins, etc.

I did buy 2 pints of Arctic Zero: chocolate peanut-butter and vanilla maple.
I'm not going to try to convince you that it tastes like premium ice cream, but it isn't bad. By the way, this store also carries 12 calorie ice cream cones.
(Supposedly they also have 50 calorie bagels, but they were out of stock;
however, I'm certainly going to try to get them soon.)

(In case anyone is interested, the web site is www.lindasdietdelites.com)

Wish we had a store close to us that sold those items. I LOVE Walden Farms pancake syrup and chocolate syrup.

DH and I went there this morning; they had the 100 calorie bagels in the store. I had half of one for lunch. All I can say is, although I don't eat sawdust, I'm sure it tastes just like this bagel. I wouldn't buy them again.

That's disappointing. I know that when I bake Gluten Free, I usually have to doctor the recipe a bit to get good results.... with the Betty Crocker Mixes, for example.

I was a good baker and loved wheat flour baked goods but the doctor said the gluten was destroying my intestines and making it where I couldn't absorb nutrients from food causing all sorts of health problems including weakened and broken bones. And my insides always hurt. Be glad you can eat gluten. The whole grain kind is pretty nutritious and won't make you fat if you don't hog it down. And if your body can't handle gluten learn to make a half way nutritious loaf of bread at home to take care of your bread cravings, which are mental/emotional and not really needed to be healthy. Learn to eat whole grains like brown rice, quinoa, millet, buckwheat, and other nutritious, non-glutenous grains.

Am sure your daughter-in-law looks forward to that slice of Birthday cake, like all the rest of us would.

How caring of you to "doctor up" the recipe.....and, if anybody can doctor it up right, it would be you.

I read an article about Artic Zero, but it was so expensive, I don't think I could swallow it!

I paid $4.99 / pint; it's certainly a "splurge" item.

Something else that's pretty good is Mrs. Meringues Sugar-Free Mini Meringues. There are 35 calories for 30 of them.
