SDC Thanksgiving weekend so far

Thanksgiving evening had super light crowds at the park. Walked onto absolutely every ride, even Powder Keg and Barn Swing. Kids went on the County Fair stuff over and over again. In fact, the only line all night was for the parking lot trams at closing! Weather was perfect, no gloves, hats, or long underwear!

Friday was quite a different story. At noon, the crowds weren't bad and we hit lots of rides. By mid-afternoon, it was wall to wall people. We left at 4pm to get dinner and have some down time. Came back at 6pm and sat in 30 mins of traffic just to park! When we got back into the park, it actually felt MORE crowded that in the late afternoin. You literally had to push and shove, there was no room to move. Thankfully, A LOT of people left after the 7pm parade, so we greatly enjoyed our last 2 1/2 hours in the park. And not much line for the trams either which seemed odd after the previous night's experience.

Today, Saturday, it has been pouring rain all morning. We're still planning to hit the park when it opens. Hopefully the rain will keep the crowds down. Also, hopefully the rain will clear out this afternoon!

I heard they had 20,000 in the park yesterday. I think they even extended their closing time to 10 pm.

They definitely had a few things running past 9:30. We were still watching the tree after the official closing time and shopped until past 10pm at the cave gift shop.

Update from Saturday at the park. It is completely dead. Walked onto every ride today. No waits. Cold and a bit wet, but having a great final day at SDC.

Isn't it a great place when it's not packed. A person almost hopes for bad weather when going there.
