EARLIMART, Calif. — A Lamont man was killed earlier this week by a chicken.

Jose Luis Ochoa, 35, was stabbed by a knife attached to the leg of a fighting rooster, the Kern County coroner's office said Friday.

The accidental stab wound to Ochoa's calf, as determined by the autopsy, happened Sunday in Earlimart in Tulare County. He was taken to Delano Regional Medical Center, where he died about two hours later.

This is a perfect example of why I do not allow my roosters in the house with knives, guns or even fireworks.
I know that sounds harsh, but it works for me..

If they charge the rooster, they better set the bail high so that he doesn't "fly the coop."

i hope the judge sentences that bird to tysons in arkansas. let them decide what should be done to him. has any one here ever eaten a jail bird?

I gotta feeling this bird will get plenty of respect in prison, and I doubt he is going to be anybody's boyfriend

I laughed when I read this last night because yesterday DW and I were on 86 west of Dogwood Canyon, and we went by that place, that lovely Ozark-American place, that has the roosters tied up in the front yard along the highway. DW commented on it.
