Shepherd of the Hills Zip Line too

Saw that in the Independent today.

5oth celebration includes a line "The Vigilante Zip Rider" Will launch from the top of Inspiration Tower and go for over 1/2 mile. Ziprider is their web site.

Was supposed to be ready this weekend but now June 12

1 North of town in the woods, 1 @ The Landing, to cross Taneycomo, & now 1 @ Inspiration tower......

I'm sure they will be popular with the younger crowd......

Interesting. Their website has been advertising that something big is coming, and now they've got a neat intro video about it. Advertising the highest launch point of any zipline in the world.

I'm also not real great with heights

Speed is not a bigee with me, now that I think about it.

The one downtown is not a zip line. It's a Gondola type ride....it's enclosed. It will carry 16 people at a time.

The one that I am referring to is located off Gretna by the White House Theatre. They are going to have solid steel construction zip lines. They are scheduled to open the spring.

We went to the House and Garden (correction-Building and Home?) Show this afternoon and talked to a guy at the Hollister booth. He said it will go from the parking lot on the Bass Pro end up to a "scenic view" area on Knox hill (not sure of that name/spelling). There will be an ice cream place. I asked if the hill is what used to be called Presbyterian Hill - no, that's a bit further down. And, as mouse said, it's an enclosed gondola, two - one going and one coming back.

I do like gondola rides, but, probably won't spend the $$$ to ride the one over Taneycomo. Seems to be a little bland, compared to ones I have ridden elsewhere, Rocky Mts., Gatlinburg, Stone Mountain GA...... But! If you have never ridden a gondola, anywhere else......

I've just never had the desire to go, but I do understand where you're coming from. Wonder why the people who are putting it in didn't consider that?

and there are people like me who have BIG mouths and scream on every ride. I'll try to be as quiet as possible when zipping by!

I've got to agree OkieAnon. I am one of the traditionalist. Of course my income also does not exist based on collecting tourist dollars. I know that has to skew your way of thinking.

I agree with you Okie,

I think keeping up with the times and doing what will bring money into Branson, is great. I also think other locations for these type rides is good only not off the Tower.

In most cities, they have restrictions of what can be built close to a church, school, etc etc. Even though this is a little different case, I think the basis is the same. Let's keep some things in Branson as part of our history and other things for the revenue.
