Suite or Condo on a Budget

We normally stay at a resort for 3 or 4 nights and we did that a few weeks ago. This year we have season passes to the parks and want to go back again before school starts. I can't afford another resort stay but we're spoiled by the resort feel and expanded living area. My husband has swore off motels/hotels forever, lol! Are there any nice family suites maybe in a hotel that you know of or low-priced condos? Around $70-$80 a night would be perfect. I'd like a small kitchen or kitchenette and a bbq grill. Not sure if that price is even an option for summer but thought I'd ask. Any opinions? Thanks!

Look on vrbo.com
There are several condos within that price range.
We are going July 27-30, staying at Thousand Hills in a 1 bedroom condo. Total cost for the 3 nights is $209.

Check out cooper Creek resort. They have really nice cabins and are very reasonable.

Thank you to everyone for your suggestions. I've looked until I'm tired of looking. There are several on the vrbo site but most of the lower rates are for winter seasons. Ones I thought we're doable were already booked for our time slots. I'm sticking to my guns this time and not overspending so they will probably just have to deal with a hotel or nothing.
If anyone has any good hotel suggestions for around $70, please let me know.
Thanks again.

Check out Savannah House, or Whispering Hills Inn - we've been very VERY pleased with both of them, and like you, we prefer to stay in a condo, especially if we're staying several days. Follow the link and you'll find coupons for them, and for other hotels that would fit your budget, and maybe even save you a few more dollars.

We just stayed at Whispering Hills Sunday and Monday. With the coupon we paid $45 a night. Two queen beds, a hot breakfast(eggs, bisquits & Gravy, waffles), donuts, bagels, cereal served 6am to 10am and nightly desert( ice cream, cobbler and cookies) served 9pm to 11 pm. We did end up on the top floor and in the back but for that price we didn't mind.

We've also stayed at Golden Arrow Resort on Indian Point and paid around the price you're looking for.

Speaking of around $70/night, I was talking to a couple whose son is at Kanakuk, and they come and stay in a condo at the same time. They get theirs through a local agent.

This year they have a 2-bedroom at Westgate Branson Lakes, formerly Grandvista Emerald Pointe.

$1000 for 14 days. Do the math.

Unfortunately if you just want to stay a few days, or begin your w/end on a Friday those deals aren't always available. I understand that they're out there, but often not at times when folks are needing them.

Good deals take a little effort. Great deals take more effort.

We have been going to Florida in January for almost 20 years. I do a little work on it almost every day. I start two years ahead. There's a few loose ends, but the major stuff for 2010 and 2011 is taken care of.

We normally wind up in a $1500-2000 resort for around $500-800. I normally get a $1200-$1400 rental SUV for around $500.

If you can't find a good deal now, in this buyers' market, then you never will.

Just look a little harder or look in places you haven't looked yet.

craigslist is another

That's my favorite area to stay in. Top floor-no feet overhead. In the back-not a lot of people walking or running past the door.
