Eating on Vacation next week

My family and I will be in Branson next week for a long awaited vacation. We were wanting to eat some catfish, steak and a buffet. Where would be the best place for each of these. Is the cost reasonable? thanks in advance.

The Grand Country buffet is good. Look around at the coupon books and you can get 1/2 off lunch. Their buffet has good catfish.

Golden Coral is hit or miss. In the evening they have good steaks on the buffet.

Crakel Barrel is all around good food.

We have only had steak at Outback. It is really good.

Buffets can be found at either Grand Country or Golden Corral. Starvin' Marvins has a seafood buffet that includes frog legs, catfish, crab, etc.

Texas Land & Cattle has good steak.

I like the catfish at Danna's, have heard The Rails is also very good for catfish.

Just a reminder: the Outback in Branson is NOT part of the Outback chain.

I can't advise you on the catfish but I have had a good steak at Montana Mike's and we liked the buffet at Golden Corral.

Votes:

Catfish-Starvin Marvin's
Steak-??
Buffet-Grand Country

And I second the vote to not eat at Baldknobber's Buffet under any circumstances.

I think The Grand Country is a good buffet. I agree with Mellie, do not eat at the Plantation!!! Worst food I have ever eaten was at that place and we go to Branson a couple of times a year.

Good Buffet in Branson

We ate at The Paradise Grill and Steak House and had the buffet and it was pretty good. We were just in Branson last week. The waitress was not the most friendly person and the food was good. They had 2 kinds of soup, chicken, shrimp, cheese and crackers, many different items for salads that you don't normally find, and much much more that I don't remember. When we mentioned at another restaurant that we were going go visit the Grand Buffet she said oh, you don't want to go there...so we didn't! She was a local so I took her word for it. Who knows, we might have missed out, but we skipped it for this time.

hey thanks. that's my hubby's. it's a 1969 Mach 1. we've owned it since August of '73. Married since March of 1973 so we've had it all out married life just about. I also have a '73 Mustang conv. oh I just remembered we drove the '69 Mustang down to Branson for our first trip to Branson in 1975. we brought $100 and a case of oil. LOL this is way off topic but I remember that $100.00 got us a place at Pine Valley Resort for 2 nights, 2 tickets to SDC, 2 tickets to a show..Presley's I think. a rented boat ride, gas and food. times and prices sure have changed!!!

thanks for the reply about Chesters's. we'll be down in August and I was gonna try the catfish there.
