REVIEW: Danna's BBQ and Burger

In the past I have chastised dana's bbq as tourist drivel on a good day. I've raked it over the coals as a place no local would dare show his or her face. Well, that may of either been premature or location based. I have eaten at the location at fall creek and the one on the way to forsyth and the above opinion was based on that. My last encounter with dana's was 3 yeas ago and apparently something has changed for the better, at least with the bransonwest/kimberling city location.

I ate there this last week (the location on highway 13) and it was in short, quite good. I was with a client who asked we try it so we did. We got the sample platter with all the basic bbq items and the first thing I tried was the baked beans. Hoping my mother doesn't read this, they were the best beans I can remember eating. They had just the right amount of brown sugar and no onion in it to make it seem like a dessert more than beans. I even considered taking some home. Their chicken was good and very moist, the pork was good WITH sauce, and the pork ribs were falling off the bone tender and good WITH sauce. The italian sausage couldn't make up it's mind what flavor it wanted to stick with, but still good. I would like to see if their catfish is any good.

All in all, I will go back to this location again to see if that's the norm. If it is, then I will begin to sing the praises of dana's bbq in k city. Whatever this location does that's different or whatever you have changed, keep it up as you are headed in the right direction.

DH and I have eaten at the Fall Creek location and the Branson West location. We prefer the BW one and that is where we go 9 times out of 10.
In regards to the catfish, DH likes the Danna's version but I don't.

I eat at the Kirbyville location fairly regularly, and really like their food. If the crowds at lunch and dinner are any indication, they're doing it right! My DS and DIL love their catfish, but I'd rather have the beans and the ribs!

We have never tried any locations except the Fall Creek location but we are very pleased with that one. Someone on the board sent a picture of their BBQ nachos and we tried them one time and they were really good.

One of my favorites is the hamburger with the BBQ pork on top--kinda the best of two worlds.
