Over the weekend, among other restaurants, we ate a dinner at Fall Creek Steak & Catfish House and breakfasts at Dockers and the Belgian Waffle & Pancake House. Our meals at each place were interrupted by people stopping at our table and begging us to come to their show or by people begging us to let them take our picture so we could buy it for $15.
When I was last in Branson 4-5 years ago, most shows were taking your souvenir picture by a cute backdrop as you entered the theatre. When did this start at restaurants, while you were biting into your food?! When I go to dinner, I want to be left alone to enjoy my meal. I don't want a sales pitch, and I sure don't want a picture of me munching on a dinner roll. Does this bug the crud outta anyone else? |

In a word, yes, it bugs me as well.
I don't even like being stopped to have our family's picture taken as we enter SDC; some days we have been asked to pose for a photograph multiple times but we have never bought one! |

Oh now THAT is hilarious! *lol*
No, Andy Williams didn't stop by our table, but our presence was graced by someone who thought he was Neil Diamond, someone else who thought he was Elvis, Dalena Ditto, and a representative for someone who thought he was John Denver or George Strait... or maybe it was both... |

Any more we just say "no, thanks" but the photographers don't always take it well. We've had more than a few follow us for a few feet repeating the offer.....

We ate at Odee's Saturday night and I noticed every time someone would leave this guy would follow them out and try to get people to buy something. This a huge turn off for me. Let people enjoy their vacations without all of the pressure.

We're going to Branson next month for the first time. Is this pestering for pictures something that happens all of the time, or was it more prevalent because it was a holiday weekend?

This is not a consistent problem. However, here is a suggestion ... when your waiter/waitress takes your order, kindly inform them that if any of the photographers/show salespeople come to your table there is going to be "real" and "loud" problems . . . this message is usually passed along.

We had breakfast at Odee's one day last week, and this same man approached my husband when we left. I believe he is the same man that was there when it was Penelope's. We talked to him a couple of times one year when we were there, and he never made us feel like we were being presssured to buy anything. Just the same, I don't like people bothering me like that when I'm on vacation.

The first meal and mistake we made when house hunting several years ago, was to eat at Fall Creek. Same pesky entertainers/photos/bad food and service. It is obvious the fire changed nothing.

We got lucky because when we left Odee's he was busy talking to another couple.

I have found that the photographers seem to have contracts with some restaurants - by watching this thread, and others like it, you can avoid those particular restaurants, and by doing so maybe they'll get the message.
