Hamlin's White Sauce
Anyone who has ever eaten at Hamlin's Mexican Restaurants in Muskogee, Oklahoma, knows that their "white sauce" is to die for. I know some people who live in Springdale, Arkansas who drive to Muskogee at least once a month, just to eat at Hamlin's. I did a google search and just got the word "Hamlin's" typed-in and "Hamlin's White Sauce" popped-up...it's pretty popular. They serve it with tortilla chips, but people put it on their enchiladas and salads and all kinds of things. Here's the recipe:
HAMLIN'S WHITE SAUCE Ingredients: 1/2 c. chopped onions 1/2 c. chopped green olives 1/2 tsp. garlic powder 4 oz. blue cheese dressing (Seven Seas) 1 pt. mayonnaise Prep: Do NOT blend in blender. Combine all ingredients. Refrigerate 24 hours. Thin with buttermilk. Especially good as a dip with tortilla chips.
