Welk center just called!

We had our Rankin tickets booked for Dec. 12th, and Welk center just called us and they are cancelling all the Rankin Brother shows after Dec.11th. Disappointed, also I had drawn from the Stimilus "drawing they had last summer" and I drew the Comets 2:00pm show. Well, we are coming in Dec. and wanted to use them, but they have moved the Comets to 8:00 PM show. I asked if they would not honor them, and the lady said NO! I really think they should have honored them, but oh well.

Well, back to the planning board.

That's crazy! They should definitely honor them for the 8:00 show!

I would try calling during the day and speaking to someone else. If that doesn't work, ask for a supervisor.

Thanks for your support. I agree. I just think that would be the fair thing to do. I think I will recall and ask for a supervisor. It just doesn't seem the Branson way to do things in not honoring the tickets.

If they don't do the right thing, I'd call the C of C and ask if they possibly could help. By help, I'm thinking they might have some extra tickets for a different show that they would give you. It can't hurt.

Never thought of that, I didn't think Chamber of Commerce would do anything but refer to Dick Clark theater, but you never know. It doesn't hurt to ask. Thanks for the input.

Well if they are smart, and I'm sure they are, they would have kept a few envelopes in reserve for just this kind of thing. Not real hard to predict a few speed bumps along the way when you are talking about so many shows and tickets.
Kind of the same concept of always having a hotel room available even if the "no vacancy" light is on..

It may not be the Branson way but it seems to be the American Bandstand way...I say keep fighting!

Also, you might try keeping your Rankin voucher until next spring and using it with their new theatre. The nest theatre often honors vouchers/tickets when there is a change.

I agree C of C could be helpful...they are great and they want tourists happy!

As the original poster said, the Rankin's have canceled 9 shows between 12-31 December 2008. Their current schedule is still accurate through 11 December. I ran into a couple people who had canceled plans to see the show because the "heard" the show had been canceled. That's not true, it is still going strong, and on schedule, with their Christmas Program up until 11 December. In fact, they will be presented the "Best New Show" award from BransonCritic within the week.

Great News!!!! I did call and talk to the box office manager for Dick Clark's Theater. Her name was Ann. She was very nice and is letting us see the 8:00 show of the Comets and use our stimulus vouchers. I am so happy and appreciate Ann willing to work with us. So I wanted to give her credit for being fair. I am sooo ready to come to Branson.

I think you'll like The Comets. They put on a great show & make a lot of jokes about their ages.......the rest of us should be so lucky @ that age......

Yes, I think I will like them too! We are seeing 10 shows when we come in Dec. and several new ones we have not seen before. This is one we have not seen before, so excited to see it. We will be seeing Rankin Brothers, Joe Diffee, Doug Gabriel, Hughes Brothers Christmas Show, Dalena Ditto, and Tony Rio and Comets--all new shows to us. So this will be fun and different to us. Six and 50's at the Hop. and Pierece Arrow are the only ones we have seen before.

Good Show

Hubby and I went to see The Comets several weeks ago. Really a good show. I was so amazed at the energy those guys have. The drummer is in his early 80's and boy can he play a drum. Their music was a little before my time, but it was just amazing to watch them.
