Are there any Branson Comedy Stop shows

Hi,

I'm new to the Branson area. I enjoy going to comedy stop shows like they have in Las Vegas, New York and was wondering if there is anything like that here in Branson. I know there is comedy in shows, but I was looking for a comedy stop show.

Check out Bob Nelson at Clay Cooper's theater. You will have to check out the times. He has his own show where he does standup and comedy skits.

When I saw him last, before he moved to Clay Copper's theater, he did 90 minutes with no intermission. The entire act is very very funny. He has had specials on HBO and Showtime and was in Kindergarden Cop.

Last year there was a comedy improv show in Branson but they don't list a 2008 on their website ("THE HOT SEAT") so I guess they are not in town this year. I heard it was good, I never got over there.

I'm not sure there are any Comedy Stop shows in Branson, but there are Branson shows that are reportedly like Vegas shows - magic shows like, Bart Rocket, Kirby VanBirch - piano shows like David Lamocola, Dino, or variety shows like the Duttons. I'm betting you'd like any of them, as they've gotten rave reviews here recently.

Well actually I really was hoping to find a Comedy Stop in Branson.

I have seen Bart Rocket before and liked it especially the thing he did with his puppet. One of the funniest things I’ve ever seen. I like the way he mixed his comedy and magic. He’s good. Haven’t seen Kirby yet. I saw David Lomascola and loved him. He’s very funny, made me laugh and his music is incredible. He told me to see Dino’s Christmas show, so I already bought tickets to that. The Duttons I haven’t seen. Are they funny?

I’m disappointed there isn’t a Comedy Stop. The Tropicana in Las Vegas has a great one I go every time I’m there. Why isn’t there a Comedy Stop in Branson too.

There is one in Little Rock Arkansas. I lived almost across the road for 4 years. I have seen a lot of now famous comedians there before they became big. They change performers each week. They used to be on the Showtime comedy circuit but that was back in the 80s. That meant they had some great tallent in the place.

If you like Bart Rocket, go see Jim Barber at Hamner/Barber Show.

I agree, Branson could use a "Comedy Store" show in town.

Harley is a hoot! He is with the Branson Brothers at 8pm at the God and Country Theater next to the Apple Tree Mall - they are only there select nights. He is also with the Moe Bandy show at the Starlite (I am pretty sure that is the right theater) and then on weekends he is with Dalena at the Oak Ridge Boys Theater.

He occassionally does road shows where he is on his own as well - he is a favorite amoung my family!

If you have never seen Paul Harris, he is awesome as well, he is currently with Joe Diffie at the Yakov theater and I believe has two or three days that he is booked with Clay Cooper. I hadn't seen him in over 10 years and I had forgotten how funny he is - would add him to a must see show as well!

You are right though, I am thinking Branson could use some sort of Comedy Stop.

Wish I could keep up with Harley. I just got back from Branson and didn't know he was with Moe. I would have considered his show if I'd known. Saw the Branson Bros. once and they weren't my cup of tea, but I like Moe. I saw Harley when he was Bert someone with Comedy Jamboree at the Grand Music Hall several years ago. He was hilarious, but I prefer him when he has a good straight man. Maybe Moe will do that for him like he use to with Hargis.

To keep up with Harley all you have to do is sign up for his website - www.harleyworthit.com, he sends out updates when he is doing road shows ... plus he has a joke of the week that I always have to check out!
