Pre-Show Entertainment

It seems like just about every show that I go to has a special performance before the actual show starts. I'm not talking about the Branson entertainers who come out and try to sell their show or products. I mean people/groups from outside of Branson that get 10 or 15 minutes of fame? Does anyone know how that happens?

I know at Branson Variety Theater they feature a number of school choirs and bands and also dance schools before their shows throughout the year. I think that's probably where a lot of them from a lot of them come from at the various theaters.

Yes...It is a wonderful program called Branson On Stage Live. It allows High School and Middle Schools and also dance studios to attend a clinic before a Branson Show...Several of the theaters participate. I had the wonderful oppurtunity to act as a clinician for them....These young kids come in and someone in the business, whether it be a performer in one of the shows, a band director or musical director will talk to the kids about being in the business. I would tell them about my background and where I performed and encourage them to ask questions about performance, or education in the arts....It is a great way for these kids to have access to the great world of entertainment. Many of these kids are thinking of possibly furthering their education and majoring in music, dance, theater...After the Q & A session, the group will do a "dress rehearsal" on the stage and the clinician will offer any feedback that will enhance or better their performance. The kids love it and they always left smiling and happy...It was always such a joy for me to see that I made a difference to a child or teen. They then get to perform for the pre-show in the theater where the clinic was being held for a live audience. At intermission of the show, the group is presented with a trophy for their live performance...I know I did many clinics at Legends In Concert and they are one of the theaters that support this...It was an honor to be a part of it!! I believe they have a website at www.Bransononstagelive.com:)

Thanks, I guess I didn't think about it. It is usually kids/teens. I was wondering about someone a little older.

Unfortunately Branson On stage costs a lot and causes many non-profit groups to not be able to afford it or the experience to the kids. Koodos to Dixie Stampede, #1 Hits of the 60's and other shows that allow groups to NOT go through Branson On Stage! It should be about the kids experience and a way to get it done without $200 fee.

Sorry...Didn't know that. Just trying to be a positive roll model for the kids.
