Handicap Lodging

My husband and I are coming to Branson, MO for our first anniversary Sept 28 to October 2, 2008. Does anyone know of a decent hotel with handicap accessible rooms or a hotel with large enough bathrooms to be able to go in with a walker?
I thought we wanted to rent a condo, but the cost is close to $400 which does not include any breakfast.
I prefer to spend less on an acceptable hotel and more on attractions.

Thanks in advance

Call the Green Mountain Inn. My mom stayed in a handicapp room at the beginning of this month and it was really nice. The prices are really reasonable and they do have some things for breakfast. Call Sandy or Dan at 417-336-6700 OR 800-337-0925.

As most all do have handicap rooms, check on parking lots. Some are on very steep inclines and would complicate matters some.

I would try Branson's Best. I don't know about their handicap rooms but you could get a ground floor room. It is very, clean and has a nice breakfast for around $65.

The Welk Resort has handicap accessible rooms and even has rooms with roll-in showers if someone would happen to have problems getting in and out of a bathtub. Give them a call... they may have what you are looking for! Tell them you read about it here and I think they give a discount!

Marlene Dixon has a one bedroom condo that is semi-handicapped accessible as I have stayed there. It's one step into the front door and parking is right in front of the door perhaps 20 feet away. There are grab bars in the bathroom and it's probably big enough for a walker. I know that the owners are also trying to put a grab bar on the outside railing for those that might need it. The floors are carpet and vinyl. The kitchen can be a little slippery when wet, but she keeps vinyl backed rugs in the closet for those that want to use them. I've stayed at this unit because I know that I can get around in it very easily.
