Gail Lennon and Blake Walker added to cast of Breaking Up Is Hard to Do

September 17th, 2008
“Breaking up Is Hard to Do”, A Musical Featuring The Songs of Neil Sedaka is proud to announce that we have added 2 great veteran performers to the cast in the roles as Esther and Harvey.
GAIL Lennon who was the featured lead singer in the Lennon Brothers Show from 1994-2004. She was also its musical director and vocal arranger. Gail and the show were recognized with many awards including “ Female Vocalist of the year”. Prior to Branson Gail’s singing was featured on such TV Shows as the “Fall Guy”, ‘BJ and the Bear” “ Knight Rider”, “Magnum PI” “ The Simpsons”, “The X Files”, and Norther Exposure. She ang the Title Songs for “Webster” and “ The new adventures of Winnie the Pooh”Solid and the movies “My Cousin Vinnie”, “Pippie Longstockings” and “Hot Shots”.
In Breaking Up Is Hard to Do, Gail plays “Esther”, The owner of “Esthers Paradise” this is the fictional Catskills resort that is the set of the play.
Joining Gail in the role of “Harvey” is another longtime Branson performer. Blake Walker. Blake is an award winning magician who has travelled world-wide with his unique style of illusion, magic and comedy entertainment. In Branson over the past 20 tears he has performed and produces shows for Jim Stafford, Silver Dollar City, Imax, and many more. Blake plays the resort resident comedian and all around “Funny Guy”.
Breakin Up Is hard To Do performs Tuesday –Sunday at 8:00pm in the newly renovated Branson Star Theatre located on W Hwy 76, behind the Olive Garden restaurant.
“Breaking Up is Hard to Do” features 19 songs written by singer and legendary songwriter Neil Sedaka including hits like “ Happy Birthday Sweet Sixteen”, “Calendar Girl”, ”Laughter In The Rain”, “Love will keep Us Together” and of course the title song “ Breaking Up Is Hard To Do”. The show is unique in the fact that it is a musical comedy that weaves Sedaka’s songs with a sweet comic story of two friends from Brooklyn, NY and their wonderful Labor Day weekend at “Esther’s Paradise”, a resort in the Catskill Mountains in the year 1960.
"They use some of my best known songs and some hidden treasures. It sounds as though the songs were written for the show."-Neil Sedaka

We saw "Breaking Up Is Hard To Do" shortly after Gail Lennon and Blake Walker joined the cast. We enjoyed the show so much that we went back last night to see it again. Although the audience was not large, everyone seemed to be enjoying the show as much as we did.

The cast is very talented and the new cast members are both outstanding. We have been fans of Gail Lennon for a long time and enjoy anything she does.

We enjoy many Branson variety shows. This show provides a nice change because it is actually a musical comedy. We would like to see more shows of this type in town.

We certainly would recommend the show to others, particularly anyone who likes Neil Sadaka's music.
