The Redhead Express
This is a new show in town and was our first time to see it.
A little background: The show is at the Circle B Theater. Cast consists of mom, dad, 4 daughters (ages 18 - 11) and 3 young sons (Youngest celebrated his 6th birthday the night we were there). When we purchased our tickets, we were told that the Duttons were instrumental in brining this family to Branson, they came from Alaska. The mom home schools the kids, taught them piano, and then they branched out to violin lessons and Dad told me they picked up the other insturments from listening to cd's. Self taught! They call themselves bluegrass musicians and have only been playing this type of music for approximately 1 1/2 years. It was their dream to take their family act 'on the road' so they rented out their new home, after living in it 3 months, sold everything else, bought a 38 ft motor coach and started traveling. Took a lot of faith to do that. But the entire family works the theater! Dad and daughters were seating people and selling drinks. 9 yr old son runs the lights and the sound. As I said, one son was celebrating his 6th birthday, so they had a cake from Dino's that they served at intermission. Dinner is available (like with the Circle B Show), we didn't do dinner, and I don't think many others did either. The girls are very talented musicians (dad doesn't play anything!) Purchased our tickets from Branson 2for1Tickets. We hadn't heard of this show until we went to 2for 1, so decided to give a new show a try! On a rating system of 1 - 10, we gave this one a 7. |

My folks saw this show last week, and enjoyed it - I didn't get any real review info from them, but dad said it was fun.

I love the fact that they salute the redheads that came before them: Lucille Ball, Ann-Margret, Ron Howard & Reba McEntire.
The kids comedy bit on Pippy Longstocking is a hoot. Bring the whole family to this one. |

My husband and I went to VIP night and really enjoyed it! I really didn't know much about the show other than they were a family from Alaska. I was amazed at how talented the girls with both instruments and vocals. The Dad kept us laughing and the brothers were great! (loved the beards...) I will make sure to pass the word that this is entertainment folks want to see if they appreciate the traditional country/bluegrass sound. Just loved listening to the girls sing!
