Hamner / Barber Variety Show

I have attended the Hamner Barber show many times in the last few years. This is one show that is good for everybody. There is comedy, magic, ventriloquism, and dancing. The show is very fast moving and can even kept the attention of a young child.

I first saw the show several years ago. I didn’t know anything about them but I was spending several days in Branson and I was running out of shows I wanted to see that I had not already seen. I found this show and attended and was amazed at the talent of all the performers in the show.

The man/wife team of the Hamners are a world class magic team that have performed in Las Vegas and on TV for years. What is Las Vegas’s loss is Branson’s gain. Their magic is fresh and fun. They incorporate birds into some of their acts. Their other acts include some astonishing large scale illusions that will take your breath away. Dave Hamner is also a ordained minister and they invite everybody to a free service that they have each Sunday in their theater. They have performers from different shows sing and then Dave Hamner ministers to everybody.

Jim Barber is one of the best ventriloquists in America. He has been on Letterman last year and has formed a great deal overseas for our troops. His acts are very funny and will have everybody laughing in the isles. His comedy is very clean but still is very funny. His acts are all unique and very funny.

I was surprised to find that both Jim Barber and Dave Hamner have a wonderful singing voice. Jim Barber sings several songs. Last year Dave Hamner sang a very beautiful song that a friend of his wrote for him while he performed magic on the stage with a child. This year the song has been removed which is a shame, it was very pretty and the act was very nice.

The show had 3 dancers that are great. The dancing help keep the show flowing between acts and the dancers are all very talented. The dancers also take part in several magic acts of the show.

I have taken all ages to the show. From 5 to 80 years old and they have all enjoyed the show. This is a show that I have never had anyone NOT enjoy.

Yea, I saw Jim Barber several, several times when he was at the Osmond Family Theater...I saw The Hamners when they performed at American Jukebox....I think that is where I saw them...love both of their performances...

I saw this just last week and I really enjoyed it. Really good show with lots of variety.
