Yellowstone

Has anybody visited Yellowstone lately? Where did you stay? What time of year did you visit?

I would love to go out that way,
I heard a few weeks back that the park was so smokey because of forest fires
that you could not enjoy the park...

I spent six weeks, during May & June, taking Groups from England, who were touring through several National Parks, including Yellowstone. The other parks included Bryce, Zion, North Rim of the Grand Canyon, Black Canyon of the Gunnison, in CO. We also did Monument Valley in Arizona, too.

We stayed at the Holiday Inn, in Cody, WY, before entering through the East Gate. We travelled through and out of the West Gate seeing Grizzly Bears, Bison and Bald Eagles along the way.

We also stayed at the Holiay Inn, in West Yellowstone, MT, just outside of the West Gate. There is a Bear Sanctuary there, which houses Grizzlies that have either come too close to humans to be deemed safe, or were found to be orphans. The sanctuary also houses several beautiful wolves.

On leaving West Yellowstone, we then travelled back into the park, travelling south stopping at the Old Faithful Geyser and then exiting south via the Grand Teton National Park and spending two nights in Jackson, WY, at the Rustic Inn Cabins.
