Legends Mall, Kansas City KS
We will be staying next door to the Legends on Labor Day weekend. I see they have several restaurant options and things to do as well as shopping. Any info or recommendations? What is cool for an 8 y.o. boy to do there?

I believe they have a place similar to Build-A-Bear but with dinosaurs. I think it is called T-Rex...not exactly sure on the name. My nephew was working there. I'm not sure on anything else off the top of my head.
Here is a link to their website: http://www.legendsshopping.com/ It appears they have a "walking tour" with stops along the way for activities. They have stuff on the webiste you can use to make it fun, interactive, and educational. Information on famous Kansans from President Eisenhower to Amelia Earhart to Gale Sayers, as well as things which were invented in Kansas or by Kansans. Goodness, I'm learning things about my home state just reading their website! Last edited by bransoncutie : 07-25-2008 at 03:19 PM. |

T-Rex is a full scale restaurant - - very similar to Rainforest Cafe but Pre-Historically Themed. Has a gift shop and aquariums and your child will love it there. The rest of the "Legends" shopping center is prolly quite similar to Branson's Landing. Lot's of shops and restaurants. Free concerts by the fountain on Saturday nights (local talent). And a movie theatre. (i'm going there tonight to see Momma Mia)
I go down there quite a bit (bout 15 minutes from where I live) - - give me a holler if you need any other specifics Last edited by moo_kitty : 07-25-2008 at 10:02 PM. |

Cabela's is cool, tons of wildlife trophy's and scenes. Cheeseburger in Paradise I would recommend. Try the Pressed Burger if you like a combination of grilled cheese, big beef burgers and velveeta. Have fun.

One of the best restaurants there is Ted's Montana Grill. Great service, great food, etc. We love it over there.

Thanks for the replies!! My son loves bowling. How is Pin Up Bowl? Wasn't sure if this was more of an "adult" venue or not.
T-Rex sounds cool, but we don't like the food at Rainforest Cafe (or at least the one we've been to wasn't good). We might just check it out and not eat! |
