Top things to do in Gulf Shores/Fort Morgan
What would be the top things we can't miss? Our boys are 5, 2 1/2, and almost 1, so I know we'll do the ferry, the USS Alabama, and the beach. Any other suggestions? Fordarama?
We'll be staying at the Rookery. I found a deal on craigslist - $700 total for the whole week (3 bed / 2 bath cottage with zero entry pool). I was quite overwhelmed with the options on VRBO and Homeaway, so it took me 2 days to finally get my bearings and figure out what we wanted. I am very happy to finally have our place booked! |

Tyann....When are you going to the Gulf? The waterpark (Waterville) is open until after Labor Day. They also have the Tracks, much like Bransons. There are several miniture golf courses, and Adventure Island, which is another fun park with bumper boats, and such. Lulu's is a fun place to take the kids and eat. The food is delicious, and it has a sand pile for the kids to play on. They can also watch the boats come into the intercoastal waterway. The dolphin cruises are fun. We took one last year, and there were all ages on it. The kids really liked it.
I am not real familar with the "Rookery", but I believe it is down Ft. Morgan road, and across the street from the beach. We rode out that way when we were down in May. There is so much to do in the Gulf Shores, Orange Beach area. The wharf is a fun shopping place, and has a farris wheel, and imax movies. Calypso Joes is another good place to eat. They have crawfish races for the kids. Whatever you choose to do, if it's nothing but enjoying the beautiful beaches, you'll have a good time!!! Have Fun!!

Either take the ferry from Fort Morgan over to Dauphin Island or if you go over to Mobile to see the USS Alabama, drive down the causeway on to Dauphin Island.
Dauphin Island has the Sea Lab Estuarium; it's a hands-on museum and aquarium. Fort Gaines is also on Dauphin Island. Tanger has an outlet mall at Foley. |

Make sure to check out Lu Lu's
It is fun and has good food, My advice is to go at an off hour, Like 2:00 to 4:30 You can take a day tour to pennsicola to the blue angels museum, They have free practice dAYs.. There is a tacky jacks in fort morgan. And pizza at a small store that is pretty good. |
