Show Review 6/24 - 6/30

Just returned from a great trip. Didn't get in as much as we had planned, but we still had a wonderful time.

Tuesday 6/24: 50s At The Hop - Drew these tickets from the Chamber's Stimulus Promotion. Great show and great new theatre. Too bad attendance was way down. I am guessing it is due to being a Tuesday night?

Wednesday 6/25: Presleys - Great as always! Wonderful singing excellent comedy. (Bought a season pass and got their book!) We were there on a night when they were taping for their commercials for next year. Might see me on TV!

Thursday 6/26: Dixie Stampede - Excellent! Had my son and 6 year old neices and they had a blast! That is what matters. I would have enjoyed myself even if they were not there. Kids do make it more enjoyable, though.
We also took a backstage tour of The Sight and Sound Theatre. Very informative and entertaining. That place is massive! We will be seeing the show in late July.

Friday 6/27: Didn't take in a show, but we rode the Ducks and had a great time! Nice and cool when we took the ride. Perfect!

Saturday 6/28: Baldknobbers - Hilarious show! Hargas and Stub are brilliant!

Sunday 6/29: SDC - Perfect day for SDC. Low 80s and sunny. I guess everybody thought the same thing, because it took us close to 2 hours to get from the strip to the gates. Would have liked to spend more time, but we are going back in a couple weeks. Beware of the Water Taboggin!

Monday 6/30: Shepherd of the Hills Tour - Didn't get to see the show but was able to do the tour before we left for home. I have done the tour before, but felt the need to do it again. Had a great time.

Had Shepherd of the Hills Drama and Kirby Vanburch planned, but due to weather and a cranky son, we will be waiting until late July to see these.

Great Trip!

I am all for thrill rides and having fun, but I seriously thought I was coming out of that thing. I couldn't concentrate on how exciting it was, I was too busy worrying about how close I was to flipping over the edge of that slide. My wife told me I was over-reacting.............I say there was no acting at all, just pure terror!

As a matter of fact I did! Always stop at the Ozark QT on our way home. They are running a special on 32 oz drinks. 32 ounces for a quarter! Are they insane? Needless to say I had to have help carrying all 12 to my car.

I had just finished eating when we stopped, so I didn't purchase anything but drinks and some pistachios (SP?). Came close, though. The eggrolls were calling my name. Pistachios keep me busy on the drive home.........keep me awake. I roll the window down just a tad (Not enough to wake up the wife and kid) and work on my aim by spitting shells through the crack. Sometimes I roll the passenger side down and go for distance. Makes for an enjoyable ride home.

Tried a Red Bull for the first time there. That stuff is disgusting! Tasted like a mixture of cream/black cherry/ Citrus. The can said it would enhance your performance at any task and give you a heightened sense of alertness. All it did for me was give me a major headache! So for all you kids out there.......Stay away from the Red Bull!

Awww Critter -- there's no such thing as getting "too wet" on a hot summer's day! Now if it just didn't require climbing 6 billion stairs to ride!! I'd LOVE to ride it...but 'fraid it just ain't gonna happen...

I know exactly what you mean. Makes the ride home alot easier. This time I didn't flip the bird to those that were just pulling onto the strip from hwy 65............

We will be seeing Noah, Presleys again, Kirby VanBurch, Grand Jubilee, Shepherd of the Hills, and SDC.

Hope you have a great time in a few weeks! Make sure you don't take a drink or have a pecan in your mouth when Hargas takes the stage..........May shoot Mt. Dew out your nose or end up a choking victim. He is a hoot!
