Thumbs up REVIEW: The Rankin Brothers Classic Music Revue

We saw the Rankin Bros. last night and were not disappointed at all.
These two young men are both extremely talented. Their music is quite varied and they are sure to please anyones' tastes, from the Everly Bros. to Billy Joel. The supporting cast is also top notch. The band is live, no tracks here folks, and they are very good at what they do. There are three female backup singers, each one has the talent to stand alone, but collectively, they
are fantastic. I believe one of them is Peggy Lennon's daughter. Mike Bliss provides some comic relief with a couple of bits during the show. I've seen Mike before around town, and always enjoy him. The highlights for me were
the brothers doing the Everlys. Mark did an Elvis that was terrific and Matt closed the show with Chuck Berrys' "Johnny Be Good", and did it as well as I've seen anyone do it, other than Chuck Berry himself. Matt is a very accomplished guitarist. They did a gospel tune, "The Anchor Holds", as a tribute to our servicemen that was wonderful. I first heard that song when Jimmy Evitts sang it at the Hard Luck Diner one day. It became one of my favorites immediately when I heard Jimmy sing it.
There is something about the harmony that comes from family and the Rankins made the song even more special. I've seen most all the shows this season and I have to put the Rankins in my top three.

Saw these guys last week and it was a great concert! They sing all of the "hits" you want to hear.
Also, as always with me, it really helps that they are nice, personable, great guys off the stage. I was able to spend a fair amount of time with them and enjoyed it. A great improvement for this theater and Branson.....Welcome!

This is a great deal. We own a condo but are not yet residents so we bought our tickets for tonight. We were able to get a family pass though which saved a lot of money! Can't wait to see them!

My wife and I got to see these young fellows last Thursday. (Thanks so much for the notice, Suselit, of the "Area Appreciation" event. You're a wealth of information and hope you keep it up.) We didn't know exactly what we were in for when we went, but had heard their ads on KOMC and they sounded really good on them. If you want "country & western", you're not going to get it here. They do "classic rock & roll" and do it flawlessly and with fervor and class. The three gals (The Raganettes ?spelling?) are just grand and the band is lively and unerring. Mike Bliss, as was mentioned above, did very well with the comedy routine. It was an evening well spent and would encourage anyone who likes "classic rock" to take this show in.

We got a special treat prior to the show also. The Trailblazers cloggers from Broken Arrow, OK (I think) put on a show and it was very very good. It about wore me out just watching them. I think it was mentioned that they've been the World Clogger Champs four years running. All in all, I think we got our moneys worth ten or twenty fold.
