1000 Hills condos - whats the scoop?

Looking at renting a condo at 1000 Hills for 4 adults, 1 child (9 yrs). Trade off would be 2 rooms at a hotel on or just off the strip. Has anyone stayed here recently? Is there a restaurant (reasonable prices) on site? Is it convenient to Celebration and SDC?
Really wanted to get into the Marriott but can't trade my week or find a week available for when we'll be there.
Or what do you know about the cabins at Grand Mountain? Couldn't get into cabins at Green Mountain --
Thanks.

Well, there are multiple locations for the Thousand Hills condos. I've stayed at two, but can't remember the names. Both were off Green Mountain Drive. As far as I know, there are no onsite restaurants, but some have restaurants within walking distance. Also, the amenities differ depending on which development you are in. If you're looking at renting from an owner via VRBO, contact them and ask exactly where the condo is located and that will help you make some decisions. If you're renting from Thousand Hills, I think you can request a particular development, but it's not guaranteed. None of them are too far from the strip, and most are off Green Mountain, which is a nice alternate traffic route. Hope that helps some.

When we were condo shopping we found the Foothills had the most on site amenities of the 4 Thousand Hills areas we checked out. We didn't see all of 1000 Hills areas so I don't know for sure what each have. The Foothills have both indoor and outdoor pools, clubhouse and a small exercise room. The exercise room is locked. I can't remember if the indoor pool was so you may want to make sure you have access to them if they are important to you. We found the area S of there on Hwy 165 less congested and easier to get around. Access to SDC was very important as it is 2nd after our condo as our favorite Branson attraction. So then we focused on Meadow Brook and Point Royale. You may want to check out those resorts also. You'll get better pricing through a private owner so take up Kim's suggestion to check out vrbo. For example my condo if I still had it with Wyndham, it would rent for $221/nt during prime season. I rent it for $133/nt plus I also begin to lower my price beginning @ 4 nts. A full week is only $109/nt Prime Season.

I had a cancellation for June so if you are looking for that month, I may be able to help you out. Otherwise I only have a few open days scattered for the summer. My availability calendar is on my site. We have pools, walking paths, hot tub and a playground. (Your 9 yr old may be too old for it. I've got a pic of it on my site.) Easy access to SDC and Celebration City. No on site restaurant but some good one's right there...... Danna's, Tony Z's, Luggi's Pizza, Shorty Smalls...... If mine won't work, Pointe Royale is right next door. Consider going there also. They have amenities plus also easy access to SDC.

http://www.meadowbrook-resort.com will take you to my vrbo site.

Sandy
