Its Memorial Day weekend, anything is crowded at that time and SDC is no exception. I think I saw where SDC is open until 8pm on Sat-Sun that weekend and that may be just to make sure everyone gets to go through the restroom line at least one time.

Sometimes it isn't actually all that bad due to people trying to avoid crowded days. Lines are always fairly long though even if less than the expected numbers show up. You just have to gamble on it, like most days at SDC.

The best thing is to get there at open, as the crowds start to roll in midmorning and after lunch.

if it's like other Holiday Weekends then the smart thing to do would be to stay away.... oh and btw.... i'll be there 4th of July weekend and Thanksgiving weekend.

I'd guess one thing to consider would be to go early just to get thru the traffic from Branson to the parking lots.... we've had some long... looonnngg waits at Thanksgiving, left a little earlier last year and it wasn't as bad.

My guess, is that Sunday won't be as busy as Saturday or Monday will be.

How about checking out all 3 days, and then letting us know, after the fact, which day had the lesser crowds.???

Just a reminder: the KSMU Youth in Bluegrass Contest will be going on that weekend plus the Grascals and Cherryholmes will be performing on the 26th. I have a feeling SDC may be more crowded on 5/30 since the Nitty Gritty Dirt Band will be performing that day.

I'm looking forward to the Youth in Bluegrass contest -- we may go that weekend just to watch the contest. I'm thinking I'll plant myself at the contest and let everyone else go ride rides.

DH and I love the Youth in Bluegrass contest but we're having company for Memorial Day weekend; otherwise we'd be there this year. We hope to head to Branson on the 27th or 28th.

I'll be there. We will go before opening and in the park before the chains drop down so we can get to the rides with the grands 1st thing. Last time my 2 yr old gd decided to unhook her seat belt while riding the butterflies and they had to stop the ride. We would not let her ride anything after that except the merry go round which really ticked her off. We'll find out if the tamtrum we had to listen to was worth it. We didn't know how else to reinforce why she can't unhook the seat belt.

We plan on the crowds to be heavy especially later in the day but we'll be gone by then. Time for the grands and grandpa to nap.

A couple nights ago she told me "Go to papa an granma's condo. More iller oller city." Then I got the biggest kiss, hug and grin. They may be busy Memorial weekend but that's when grandpa can have a 5 day weekend. How can you pass up taking the grands to "iller oller city".
