Talking SDC!! Whats your favorite part about it?

What do you like so much about SILVER DOLLAR CITY? The rides, the shows, the food, the shopping, all of the above? What season is better or do you enjoy it all?

I like going with friends and family. Its more enjoyable and to see their faces as you ride rides together...PRICELESS! I also enjoy the Kid Fest and Old Time Christmas season but I do like it all.

Its makes memories worth rebeating...I know I sound like a billboard. LOL.

Its just my second favorite place in branson to be. I am a ride person myself. I like going for the rides. Wild Fire, Giant Swing, Fire in the Hole, Lost River, etc.

Do you have a favorite ride? OR favorite show, food spot, etc? Let everyone know why you keep going back for more and why its worth going back too.

I personally love the immersive atmosphere. The rides are great, but I can get them anywhere - the stringent storylines and characterization of everything in the park makes the place awesome.

Watching my kids enjoy the park is the best part for me by far. My 9 month old to my 7 year old have a great time every trip.

I like the water rides, Dear hubby hates getting wet....
I just wish I could go when it wasn't so hot the pavement melts to your feet....
Then it would be more fun.

Fordy, he sounds like me!!! LOL!! I like the Lost Mine where you shoot at the targets. I am pretty sorry at it, but when you have been in the hot sun, it is nice, relaxing and cool.

Lost River would be pretty cool if you don't get DRENCHED!!!!!!!!!!!!!! lol

Silver Dollar City? I love it all! My parents have been taking me and my brother there since we were very little. It's one time when we can all get together and be a family again. Since my family is now scattered around the country, it's hard to get together. We always try to meet up and make at least one trip together each year. We do the same things we have done for years - ride all the rides, each too much food, and feel sad when the day is over. My favorite of all rides would have to be the log flume. And food? The skillet meals, hand down.

Watching the crafts, music, the atmosphere, people watching, and the view out the back window of the Little Church is awesome.

Nice people--Nice values

I love the friendliness of the employees at Silver Dollar City. They go out of the way to make people enjoy themselves. We were there on Friday, May
2nd, and one of the employees came over and serenaded my 1 year old with his harmonica while he was sitting in his stroller waiting on his brother and sister to go to the bathroom. That says a lot that they will go out of their way to make a 1 year old smile. I also appreciate it that Silver Dollar City celebrates the true meaning of Christmas rather than just glorifying Santa and commercialism. Their living nativity and Christmas Carol productions are fantastic, as are the lights and music.

I read in one of the history things (and also was in a dvd from the museum) that the crafts, etc., were just added to the cave site for the ones to have something to do while their friends went in the cave. They were surprised when up top was the real draw in the end instead of the cave.

I love the emmersion in the music, and the decor.... and the crafts, and shopping ... and the memories. I think making memories it what keeps me returning year after year - that and black walnut brittle, funnel cakes, and the potato skillet dish!

Well, we've never seen any of the shows at SDC, and DH refuses to ride the rides, except the water rides...he's a fraidy cat. But, we both LOVE everything else. From the minute we park the car, until we get back to the car...we just LOVE IT! The funnel cakes are one of my favorites, but I can't have them, anymore. So, I guess I'll have to try some of the fresh pork rinds that they make, there. I'll bet they're good!

My favorite time (of course), is Christmas time. I just think it's the prettiest place I've ever been.

My favorite thing about SDC is that it links me to my childhood. It's representative of the Branson that I knew in the 1970's and 80's. That was what struck me most as we toured SDC last Friday. I was dismayed though to see the woods that I remember so much between the park and C lot completely gone. That was always a mysterious little spot to me as the tram took us by. You could see it sloped way down, but not to the bottom. Now that entire patch of forest is gone. I understand SDC is dealing with traffic problems, but that was very sad to see.

I love EVERYTHING about it. Name something, and I love it (except maybe the deep fried pickles, but that's only 'cause they had some sort of cajun spice in the batter that burned my mouth like crazy).

One thing I want to highlight is not actually in the park itself, and that is SDC's attention to its customers. There have been several times that I have given feedback through the form on their website, and I've always gotten a live response instead of a form letter, and often the little things that I ask for somehow end up implemented later on (it's happened so many times that I feel like either someone's reading my mind or they actually do take the advice they get from their customers).

For example, when they redid the Saloon Show last year, I was only one of many that I saw who were dismayed by the absence of the characters we'd come to really enjoy, especially Miss Tilly, who'd been in the show since before I started going to the park 14 years ago. Well, I was quite awesomely surprised this past Wednesday to find that Miss Tilly had been added back into the show!

So, yeah, I'm especially impressed by SDC's level of customer interaction. It's AMAZING.

And of course, the friendly employees. They actually seem to ENJOY working there. The young kids who work at my local amusement park always look like they're only there for the paycheck; I myself worked for a brief time there last year, and I experienced that very feeling myself. That's why I'm so eager to work at SDC someday, because I want to be one of those people who is so happy with their job that they stay there for over 40 years (like June Ward).

Joy
