? About Taneycomo Hiking Trail

On a post some time back, I remember reading about a hiking trail that followed the crest of the cliffline above Lake Taneycomo. Can anyone provide some info as to where to find that?

Thanks in advance!

It's called the Lakeside Wilderness Area. It's a very nice hike. To clarify, it's kinda behind Dick Clark's theater. Take Fall Creek road from highway 76 to the first left. It's probably no more than 1000 feet down Fall Creek. The entrance is a bit tricky, so be on the lookout.

I actually hiked this last night with dd and my 2 yo & 4 yo grands. We took the easy short route which has a nice over look and only went down the 1st flight of steps that go down towards the lake. The youngest was busy looking for elephants and the oldest got scared because we seen a very large bug cross the dirt trail. Also for you timid folks a Port a potty in the parking area is all you get.

Never found the elephant.

No elephants, but did you find the cache? No idea what I'm talking about? Well, try checking out geocaching.com It's a sport where YOU are the search engine. I know there are (were) at least two in that area. It's a good time. My wife and I have been to places we never would have went to without it. Plus, it's good, cheap family fun. The little tikes get a kick out of it too. Ask among your family and friends. I'm sure someone has a GPSr for you to give it a shot. There are some really good ones in Branson.

Thanks for the reminder BransonFramer!

I am going to HAVE to remember to take the GPS with me next time we head that direction.... is there a geocaching website that you recommend for the Branson area?

.........at least there IS a port-a-pot! It could be MUCH worse, lol.

DUH! I just realized you left the website you use.... it must be time for bed!

There is no specific website for geocaching in Branson, but on the www.geocaching.com website you can search for caches anywhere in the world! You can search by state, zip, gps location and on google maps. There are LOTS of caches in the Branson area. We are always finding new ones to do when we visit. This past trip we did 4 caches in the Big Cedar area.
