Bertie Higgins (from Jackson Cash Thread)

OK...
I just drove by the Caravelle tonight....the marquee says "Jackson Cash - Man In Black - 8pm". What happened to Bertie Higgins & The Pirates?
Anyone know the scoop?

I wondered that as well. When I drove by Saturday night around 9pm the theater was dark. I see they are taking down Bertie's sign as I type this. Hmmmm....

In this review it says 11 people were in attendance at Bertie's show. I knew Bertie was coming to Branson but I didn't know his show had already opened -- and closed.

I'm sorry to hear that; we had planned to see his show this summer.

My understanding is that Bertie and the Warren & Wally and the Boys show are looking for a different venue. So Bertie has not left town yet - just the Caravelle Theatre.

Then it must not of been the same players from the show at the mall.... that was awsome.......... time will tell if they will stay or not.... however they really need to get the word out if they are going to be here , or failure is on the horizon....... Branson needs new shows, but it is very difficult in this time to succeed. It takes tremendous work not to mention a pile or two of money...

I understand it was a different band from when he was at the mall. I have a co-worker who had worked at the mall and enjoyed the show there. He said he had been to the show last week and it wasn't nearly as good.

And the Americana, which just happened to lose 2 shows, is right next to the ice cream parlor owned by the producer of the Bertie Higgins AND Warren, Wally & the boys shows which just happened to pull out of their theatre.

His original band probably remembered when he left Branson early 2 years ago and didn't want to make the move again. Smart move on their part. Did Bertie even do 10 shows this time?
