Here and there

fwiw - The other day when we went up to the scenic overlook, there were flagmen. They are resurfacing. We had to wait in 2 places, maybe about 5 minutes each time.
Also, This is the first time that a man from The Scoops was over there telling people to stop in across the road for free ice cream (and I imagine a visit with a timeshare?). We passed on that. Please correct me on that, if needed.

I moved this from my "We're here" in chit chat, realizing it probably belonged here.

We went to the new Branson Entertainment Hall of Fame museum today at the the Branson Mall. Really interesting. Timeline on the wall and memorabilia from the different show over the years. Then a movie at the end about the beginning of Branson and interviews. We bought it.

Scoops

We have stopped at Scoops many times. They have great ice cream, they had hot dogs, I don't know what else. We didn't even know they sold time shares till the last time we stopped. They did tell us we could get good deals on tickets if we participated in the time share thing, but we declined. There was no high pressure. They only mentioned the time share thing because they heard us talking about the possiblity of getting Branson Belle tickets some time. You won't be sorry you stopped in.

We did stop on a couple other trips and no problem - but this guy was over at the overlook walking up to people and starts to visit and then says to go over to Scoops.

But with Scoops you never know if they are going to be open or closed. On the weekend when the gates had opened at Table Rock Dam and everyone was sightseeing, we stopped at the overlook about 4:30 and Sccops was closed. They missed a big opportunity because some folks had parked in their lot and walked across the road. We commented we would have bought ice cream if they had been opened. I didn't know they had anything to do with timeshares though.

The first w/end of the flooding, they could have sold Chili and made a mint! The lookout was packed when we drove by, and the place was as dark as could be.

Missed opportunity = missed money. Not a wise decision.

PETSTOCK ~ We got to go for a bit this afternoon! Got to meet a couple of Board Buddies! - BUT - on the way back to Branson I remembered as we were coming in we were told there were more at one of the tables. I'm embarrased to say that I FORGOT I WAS TOLD THAT So, if anyone here is reading this and knows we didn't say "hi" ~ why didn't you throw something at us???

While we were there Doug Gabriel and wife performed. First time to hear him. Harley Worthit too.
Before them was (I think, because it was pretty loud and couldn't always hear what was said) Billy Don Scott.

Went back to the Branson Entertainment Hall of Fame to get a few pics of the past - I apologize for the quality.

Now this area is Celebration City

Also where Corn Crib Theater (near Jim Stafford) and Wilderness Settlement was

I was really happy to see these photos too. They tell me that the "cow" building with t-shirts that's there now was part of that too. And that little white ice cream place was there then?

Yup ~ we did it ~ our first time on the Ducks

He said with the water still high, you don't see the entry as usual - it's usually at the edge of the trees.
Then we had to come out at the park marina because it's too hard to see the way out at their regular place.

We took a drive ~ found the Wilderness Road

It was pretty for a while

Then we ended up in a quarry

And the road went to gravel ~ I chickened out and we went back the way we came. I suppose someone will say we were 1 mile from 65!
