Cabins at Green Mountain

We are planning a girls getaway (8 of us) in mid-June and looking at Cabins at Green Mountain. From the map it looks like they may be a little remote, are they? Are there any eating facilities within walking distance? The hotel description implies you might have to drive to swimming pool, is that the case? Hoping someone who has stayed there recently can give me more information.
We were also looking at Grand Resort/Water Park, where 3 rooms would be about the same. Or 3 rooms at Branson's Best --
Suggestions?

Is the room more important or the pool?

The Cabins at Green Mountain are not remote. They are located on Green Mountain Drive right next to Celebration City and right across the street from the Roy Rogers Museum/Theater. They are very close to numerous attractions on the 76 Strip and Shepherd of the Hills Drive. Many restaurants are within 1/2 mile including IHOP, Olive Garden, Cracker Barrel, Red Lobster, McFarlain's, Taco Bell, Steak and Shake, and Golden Corral. We have not stayed at the Cabins at Green Mountain, but we have toured their cabins and resort. Unless they have added a pool in the last 1 1/2 years, they have two pools on the property. Both of them are about the smallest I have ever seen at a resort. The cabins that we toured were nice enough on the inside, but on the outside they kind of reminded me more of a church camp feel than a rustic cabin. They are on two levels, so the rooms are cozy and comfortable. You could all be together with this option. We have not stayed at Branson's Best. I have heard the rooms are clean and they have a good breakfast. The Grand Country has great pool/water park amenities, but no continental breakfast and is very $$. One of the buildings is pretty far from the water park. You could use the difference in price to go to Whitewater or the city's Aquapark. I could check availability at the resort I own at if you wanted other options. Just e-mail me dates and preferences.

The Cabins at Green Mt. are right in the middle of Branson, but in a Country like setting. They have a larger pool and hot tub by the office/clubhouse area, and a smaller heated pool in the back of the property. The Cabins are two or three bedroom, and offer all the amenities of a home. Some have hot tubs on the back porch. I highly reccomend them, and I have stayed in several different cabins, and have not been dissappointed yet. You can walk the entire property, and do not have to drive to the pool area.

Personally, I would go with the cabins as well, versus a hotel/motel. From experience, it's wonderful being able to enjoy your morning cup of coffee in your pjs, your group all together, and not have to get dressed to go out in public yet. The cabins would make for a more relaxing time, IMO.

Don't ask about "vacation packages" because they would be a timeshare presentation.

I, too, am trip planner for my wife's Girls' Week Out, also normally for 8.

I, too, like Cabins at Green Mountain. The others have done an adequate job describing it and I can't think of a better place for y'all to hang yur hats with the feeling of outdoorsness, but near the action.

I have looked at the site before. There's nothing there that says anything about rentals. So I'm guessing a person has to call and inquire about rates?

You can get info off of the Festiva.com site, but if I were you, I would just call. I have been checking in before, and seen non owners renting rooms. You will enjoy it!

Here's how I search for timeshares for rent:

1. Google _________ timeshares for rent

http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&q...o ogle+Search

2. Pick a site, in this case I'll just take the first of 24,300:

http://www.vacationtimesharerentals....souri/Branson/

3. If you want a specific resort, search that site for it. This one has 327 for rent, but I don't see that you can search by resort. You can search by price, # bedrooms, # it sleeps, week, most available . . . OK, scrolling down I see that you can search by resorts, alphabetical, so I will:

http://www.vacationtimesharerentals....souri/Branson/

4. Scrolling down to Cabins on Green Mountain:

http://www.vacationtimesharerentals....Mountain,-The/

5. There are four rental listings. Selecting a 3 bedroom/ 3 bath floating (any week), and clicking on view listing:

Rent: US$999/week
Buy: US$2,499 plus closing costs (more info)
Availability: Almost Any Time

Unit Size: 3 Bedroom/3 Bath (sleeps 10)
Check-In Day: Sunday
Available Season: High Season
Use Type: Annual Float Wk

Ownership Type: Deeded Timeshare
Annual Maintenance Fees: US$550

(Doing the economics, for 10, that is 15 bucks per person per day.)
- - - - - -
OK, that's one, now there are 23,999 more hits to search.
