Quiet creeks for swimming / diving

We will be out for a week in mid July and staying at Eagles Nest Condo near Tabletop and Silver Dollar City. I have an adventurous family and I am looking, ideally, for any small creeks / old fashion swimming holes. Spring fed would be great. Also, any place to do any jumping from cliffs? Would be open to traveling a bit.

Thanks ahead of time.

If the water is up, Swan Creek in Forsyth is great for cliff jumping

How far do you want to drive? You could go a couple hours east to Elephant Rocks in Ironton and jump off the cliffs there. Great hiking and views there, too. Johnson's Shut-Ins used to be a good place to jump, but it is too dangerous now.

Is Johnson's Shut-Ins open, yet? We've been wanting to go camping there, but it was so damaged, seems like it's been closed forever.

I think it opened last summer for day use only with a limited swim area.

It's in Ironton, just a few miles from Elephant Rock. According to the MO State Park website, the trails and such will reopen in 2009: http://www.mostateparks.com/jshutins/recovery.htm.

I remember the Shut-Ins as a kid - we'd make a day trip to climb Elephant Rock, picnic, then swim at the Shut-Ins. We plan to take our boys there many times (they've already been once).

What do you mean "IF" the water is up? Have you been out there recently?
