Pointe Royale Condo

I will post a couple of pics I've taken so far and add more later. We have a one bedroom unit. It's at the back of the property on the lower level. We rented it through VRBO. The only other one bedroom unit we have rented was at Stonebridge. It was luxurious. This one is much smaller and doesn't have all the extras. I believe it's the same price but we had Stonebridge through DH's uncle's timeshare ownership so that's probably why it was more for less.

Thanks for posting the pictures! It looks like a nice remodel. Nice flat screen TV. Is it a little loud in there without carpeting?

I was concerned about that too. With it just being the two of us and old at that so we are pretty quiet, it's been fine. Maybe if there were children.

I also wondered about being the bottom unit. We have heard comments from others about noise above them. We just had someone move in above earlier today so we will find out now.

Hopefully the unit above you has carpeting. I love hardwood floors but don't think I will put them in our Condo when we remodel next year because I think it might be to loud for the condo below ours. It is just the two of us and we are "old at that" as well but our grandson is a little active and I could definately see him running back and forth chasing the puppy.

We stayed in a lower unit last year and could hear the little ones running across the floor. It wasn't too bad but we could hear them.

Forgot to add that the queen bed has the "memory foam" mattress. They hadn't said that in the amenities. It would have been helpful to know that. I wasn't sure how I would do on it - so spongy. I need a hard mattress for my back problem. I think I have mentioned that we keep a sheet of plywood in the trunk to put under mattresses when we travel, just in case. But that wouldn't work for this. So...we bought a camping air mattress at Walmart, just in case. Didn't want to get ready for sleep and not able to. We knew we could return it if not needed.

Well, I'm doing fine with it. The one problem (as it was suggested by someone when we wondered if we should have gotten one of those instead of the sleep # bed) is that this is a bit too warm. The mattress molds around you. DH says he feels like he's sleeping in mashed potatoes

Preacherman - I will trade you mattress' - my king, pillowtop is as hard as plywood... I have trouble with my pressure points falling asleep, and waking me up. .......we've had it for about 5 years now, and I still hate it. I catch myself sleeping on the couch during the day if I'm home, and actually sleeping instead of tossing and turning like I do on our mattress.

Dh and I are seriously considering replacing it soon, as we are neither one happy with it - but it's sad to have to replace a mattress so soon after you buy it - and it hurts the pocketbook! I think we paid $800 for the darn thing!

I can't believe it when they advertise people using the lower numbers on the sleep # - Lindsey Wagner is 35 I have mine on 100 all the time.

DH says maybe you would want to get one of those walmart mattress toppers with the memory foam and test it. You might see if the real thing would work for you without spending the money. Maybe someone here has some info on this?

Preacherman - I have a 3 inch $$$ topper on my mattress, it helped for about a year. It's slightly softer than the bedroom floor, but I think if there was padding under the carpet it'd be softer. (JK, there probably is pad under the carpeting, but it's not soft either)

Very nice looking condo!!!

Try Brashier's (sp?) in Branson for a new mattress. They are right on the Strip, near the east end, I think. They have the Jamison mattresses...not too soft and not too firm, and the edges are nice and firm so you don't feel like you are going to roll off if you get too close to the edge - very luxurious. They are pricey, around $1500 for a king set, but they will last. We plan to get one for our next mattress at home - we're on our 10th year with our BeautyRest.

My next choice would be Serta's "Devin" style at JCP's. Also perfect soft/hard and firm edges. It's around $1000 for a king set.

Since you mention Point Royale v. StoneBridge, and that is a comparison/decision we went through ourselves, yes, Point Royale, while being nice, is lesser than StoneBridge Village.

And PR's neighbor, Fall Creek, is far lesser.

Thought I would give a final report on Pointe Royale since we just have a couple of nites left here.

It has been a very pleasant home away from home.

I am sharing pics of this because it is on VRBO and in case anyone might be curious about it sometime. It's what I would appreciate.

On the way to the unit-

The unit-

Looking at the back area from the road below-

We did have to ask the office for help with the coffee pot. The basket was missing. DH wonders if someone accidentally threw it in the trash with the grounds. Anyway, they exchanged it while we were gone.

As for being on the lower level - we have only heard the people walking upstairs 3 or 4 times and only briefly. No problem at all.

One of the things that was a problem - the cupboards are so full of helpful things for our stay, that there is no room for groceries

And something that was odd to us - since we are at the lower level, in these units it's like going into a basement to get to the door.

The positive aspect of that is that if it's stormy out it should be safe We got used to it, anyway. And once you are in the unit, it's very pleasant as I had posted pics of it before.

Just to give an idea of the area here:
If you look at the upper center and see the red spot, then go down to the center of the pic to where the larger grassy area is (golf course), that's where this place is.

We turn in off of 165 across from the Welk theater drive.
