Smile Branson on Saturday the 19th

We drove down to Branson yesterday. We were checking out the water levels down in Kimberling City/Lampe and then headed over to Branson. The town was very busy. We saw a lot of busses. We tried twice to get down to the landing with little success. They were parking in the dirt/gravel lot near Belks, all the other lots were completely full and I saw several busses loading and unloading. We were looking for a place to eat and tried Olive Garden, Pasta House and both had over forty five minute waits. This was at 2:30. We ended up at Chili's near Target. They were not that busy. I have no idea if we had a new server or what, but the service was terrible. We waited for quite a while, got our food and it was luke warm at best. They had my dd order wrong, and by the time they had her cheese burger cooked, we were done eating. I usually enjoy eating at Chili's, so I was very disappointed in the service. We spoke with a manager and mentioned that it's pretty important to get food out when it's hot and replace food when it's wrong as quickly as possible. He offered a $5 coupon. We waited another 10 minutes to get our check and then another 15 minutes to come back with the receipt. I hate waiting to pay, one of my biggest pet peeves. It wasn't that they were running around crazy or anything, they just moved very slow and didn't really seem to care, kind of a slow afternoon for them. Made me crazy! Anyway, we will try it again, just hope they can speed it up a bit. After that, we headed out to Celebration City and it was a beautiful day for that. The new ride was going and people were getting very wet. I left the family there and headed over to Tanger for some shopping. The parking lot was very easy to get around. The stores were busy, but not crazy. The new Nike Store is a really nice store. Anyway, it was a very nice day in Branson. There were a lot of people and more buses than I would have expected this early. We had a great time.

Thanks for the review.
Sorry about that miserable treatment in the ''food'' department.

I am so sorry.
Most Restaurants realize that Branson Visitors need timely service so they can make it to Shows on time.
...Chilli's obviously hasn't learned this Branson Fact of Life.
Thanks for letting us know.

Thanks for your review. We've been tempted a few times to stop at Chili's to eat while we've been out that way shopping at Target but haven't done so. Guess it's a good thing we've passed although we've generally found Chili's to be reliable spot to eat in most places.

It looked more like groups of people, from like churches/schools etc. There were older people and groups of younger people wearing the same t-shirts. There may have been some big events this weekend that I am unaware of. I was just a little surprised to see that many large groups of people in Branson, it made eating a little more difficult, but I don't think they were charter groups, because it did not appear the restaurants knew they were coming, as would be typical with a charter trip. We had thought about driving down to SDC, but decided against it after seeing how busy it was in town. Celebration City can be really busy, but it's so easy to get in and out that it doesn't really matter. SDC can be very difficult to get into if it's busy. My dd really wanted to go to the World Fest, so hopefully we'll make it back down and try to go really early to beat some of the crowds. We had taken time to go see the lake near Kimberling City and was so shocked, we spent a little too much time there.

Yeah, I noticed several groups of people with the same T-Shirts, around town...First Baptist Church...others that I didn't read. There must've been something going on.

There was a christian women's conference called Women of Joy going on this weekend. We saw some people we knew and they said they were there for the conference.
