REVIEW: McFarlains Restaurant - Terrible food

Worst food and service. We live in Harrison, Ar. so we visit Branson weekly. Thought it would be fun to go the Imax watch a movie and go out to eat. Since Mcfarland's was right there, we would give it a try. Very pricey, the food and service was horrible. When the cashier checked us out ask how everything was, so we just told her the truth. The bewilderment on her face told it all so we just left. Just had the impression she just thought we were tourist and would'nt be back anyways. Well she was right!!! There to many places to eat in Branson that are excellant. I would never suggest eating at Mc Farlands.

Hmm...interesting how one person's opinion differs from another. We just had lunch there on Sunday and it was good as always. We've eaten there several times and the food has always been good and we have always had friendly service there as well. In fact, it's one of our favorite places.

McFarlains is one of my family's favorite places to eat. Unless something DRASTIC has changed I am very surprised by this review. We ate there last year and as always were pleased with our food. I can't see that their prices are so out of line either. I guess everyone has different tastes and opinions though.

Interestingly, I just ate there for lunch today with my best friend who is in town from New York. Great food, great service, and very busy! I've never had a problem with the food, the service or the prices.

We've always loved McFarlains and look forward to eating there whenever we are in Branson. Hopefully the bad experience was just an isolated thing.

Was very surprised to read the original post here! We've eaten at MacFarlins several times and always found food and service to be great. Don't consider their prices to be out of line either, and one can usually find a coupon that will give you a discount.

I'm not a huge fan of McFarlains myself, but it is a decent meal for affordable prices, and the food always comes fast. My biggest complaint is that the fries seem to be OreIda frozen from the grocery store, but the rest of the food is OK.

Wow-- I hadn't gotten around to posting reviews for our trip yet because I've been too busy to type it all out- but we ate there on our trip over Spring break and had another wonderful experience. We'd eaten there at least twice before that trip and weren't disapointed this time either. Our waiter was awesome, the food was good and even without the coupon that we used from the VIP book, it still wouldn't have been too expensive. You get a lot of food for what you pay and their honey cornbread is to die for!!! Seems to me like OP is being being a bit harsh. Maybe they had a bad day... who knows. People are overly critical sometimes for reasons that they fail to disclose too so it may not be all the fault of the restaurant. To each his own I guess... I'm still going to eat there.

Well, guess I had better 'fess' up ---- I think breakfast is the ONLY meal we've eaten there, but we have eaten lots of breakfasts at MacFarlins! Great biscuits and gravy and grandson was amazed at the size of the cinnamon roll! We tried their buffet one time and decided it wasn't the buffet for us, but that's the only negative I have about MacFarlin's!

We make it a point to eat at McFarlains every visit to Branson. We have never had a bad experience. The food and atmosphere are wonderful!
The fried maters and sweet taters are excellent. I hope one negative review does not sway someone into passing on the opportunity of trying it out.

If you haven't seen the Legacy and Legends IMAX film, you should check it out. The menu and all the decor is based on the film.

Thanks for all the wonderful reviews!! This is one place my family has yet to dine at. Two trips ago it was Hard Luck and Dana's. Last trip was just a day trip so it was Dana's and Deno's. I'll have to put McFarlains on our dining list for the next trip.

My thoughts, too..........

I've eaten @ McFarlains many times over the past 8, or so, years, & the food has always been great. I really love their hot beef plate & their cobbler is, imo, the best in Branson......yummy!
