Peppertree at Thousand Hills
Hello everyone --
has anybody stayed at the Peppertree at Thousand Hills? Is this a timeshare deal? Might stay here in June if NOT a timeshare scam. Comments? |

Peppertree might do nightly rentals, one would have to call and ask, but I guarantee that they will sign you up on a tour if you stay there. I work in the timeshare trade and there is always someone there to sign you up on some sort of tour. If you own, they want you to buy more. That is how it works. Bottom line, if you stay there regardless if you are an owner, you will be pitched for a timeshare tour. I have worked for Festiva and I know how they work. |

Its been 3-4 years, but we stayed as the guest of owners, at PepperTree, and we didn't have to give them anything but our name - and they never have asked us if we wanted a tour.
I have always unplugged the phone when we've stayed at a timeshare establishment - so maybe that kept them from contacting us? |

timeshares are a good thing - and can be very beneficial to family members of people who own them.

Not Contagious
Staying at a timeshare, going on a timeshare tour, and owning a timeshare are totally unrelated. (although going on a tour and becoming an owner may have a direct relationship
)With somewhere around 5 million timeshare owners, many of them with multiple holdings, and with the developers and exchange companies heavily involved in rentals, most that are offered that way are exactly that, a nightly rental in a very nice condo, sans the burden of ownership. Unless it is specifically stated, a timeshare rental does not involve a tour. You may be invited on one, just like you may be invited on one at a restaurant, but it is not an obligation. You just stay as a regular guest with full use of the amenities. (Which in the case of Peppertree is none, I believe. Peppertree has had a checkered past, but that doesn't have anything to do with spending a night or a week there.) Generally speaking, Branson resorts are very nice. To my knowledge, no one has caught timeshare just by staying at one. ![]() - - - - - - I notice Peppertree's website still refers to Wyndham (Fairfield): http://www.peppertreethousandhills.com/ When you google it, it is on a lot of rental sites: http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&q... oogle+Search Here is the Festiva announcement: http://www.festivaresorts.com/thousandhills.php Last edited by NotJLB : 04-24-2008 at 11:09 AM. |

We have stayed at several time share places in Branson - I have always initiated the stay.
I would be leary of a time share sales push IF you got a postcard in the mail telling you that you've won a trip to Branson with tickets for 2 to a couple shows, and 2 nights stay at a local resort, for $29.95. OR, if you get a phone call with a similar offer. I think you are safe from a timeshare sale if you initiate the stay. (of course it'll cost you more than $29.95) |

I agree with the last two posters - some of my clients rent condos across the country that are owned/operated by timeshare companies. They might be invited to tour, but it's never an obligation.

If word got out how many Branson nightly rentals are handled by timeshare companies, they may have to close Branson
(if this forum is a valid indication ). |
