Shoguns in the falls
Is it still good? My wife and I enjoy acting silly while they cook. Is the Tsunami bar still open next door??

Is Shogun's a chain? My SIL highly recommends the one in St. Louis, just wondering if it is the same?

Bear in mind that there are two Shoguns, the other not far away in the strip mall by Welk.
Just make sure you know which you are going to if you are meeting others or have reservations. |

Can't say one way or the other on the Shogun at the Falls center, since I have never been to the restaurant, but I can say that we tried the one at the Welk Resort and will never evereverveverveverEVER go back there again. Nor would I reccommend it to anyone. EVER. I know that Shogun is a chain, but I am not sure if either of these- or maybe both- are affliated with the chain or not. If so-- the chain needs to close the one at the Welk center. It was awful.
![]() Side note though-- Did go to Tsunami a couple times (after the restaurant side of the place had closed for the night) when we were on trips without the kids, but mostly just to listen to music. Can't say I was overly impressed with the bar itself, but wasn't bad either. Just gave us something to do besides sit around the room and flip through channels. lol

Who's JLB? I'm not telling.
- - - - - - I guess the cat's out of the bag on the other. - - - - - - IMHO, Shogun is a Special Occasion place, not your typical Branson discount food place. It seems like most Branson dining discussions are oriented toward getting the most for the least. In another travel forum I have participated in for ten years, dining out is not something Branson has a good reputation for. It's not like Springfield (or any major metro area I've been to), with it's beaucoup choices up and down Glenstone. My first Bennihana (sp) was more than 30 years ago, in Atlanta. Yeah, it was Special Occasion, a certain blond. The next cook-it-at-your-table-with-a-bit-of-showmanship outing was a place off Noland Road in Indendence, MO, with friends, using the Entertainment book, and that was more than 10 years ago.Our last was Shogun at Welk, with friends having a birthday, a week ago. Yeah, on a 2-fer again. Two 2-fers. We arrived early, debated, and when the birthday girl arrived, she said OK, I believe out of sympathy. Like a timeshare presentation you pay for the sizzle, not the steak.Nothing you can do will make it inexpensive. Last edited by NotJLB : 04-05-2008 at 08:04 AM. |

My family discovered them two years ago and we return time and time again. We love the food and the show of cooking it. They do have 10% off coupon in on of the guidebooks in town. We usually go at lunch when the prices are a little more affordable. Two can do lunch for $30, but the same meal at dinner would be $50. This is especially fun if you are with a group of friends. The cooks really get into it and put on a show.
Make sure you are at the Fall Shopping Center, not near the Welk Resort. I have not heard good things about that place. Though I have to admit that I have not been to that location.
