Breakfast Buffets
All of the talk about food and eating cheap got me to thinking about our trip in May. Hubby wants to eat a good breakfast buffet style. I am trying to find the best food and the prices of the buffets, so I can better plan our trip. While on the topic of Buffet are there any lunch buffet for a good price open till like 3-ish so we wouldn't have to eat a big supper
Thanks for any help Sonya |

I think the Grand Country Buffet is open till about 3 and you can usually find a good coupon deal ---for example, in the Sunny Day Guide, a free book you can pick up at most motels, hotels, etc., has a coupon for buy 1 lunch buffet and get 2nd lunch buffet 1/2 price. Their tele # is 417 335 2434

I second what shis1 says......
I like Grand Country too. You can save money with the coupon. I think on Sunday's you can't use the coupon. Does anyone have a coupon book or remember what the coupon says???

I just looked at the 'fine print' on the coupon in the Sunny Day Guide book and it says: 11 am to 3 pm Monday thru Saturday. EXCLUDES Sundays and holidays. Not valid with any other offer. The coupon is valid till 12/31/08! |

Alot of the buffets like Starvin Marvins, The Plantation & Dockers are $4.99 plus another $2 for your drink. I think SDC, Golden Corral are a little more.

My vote would be Golden Corral or Grand Country. Both have a really big variety, and I think the Golden Corral has an omlet bar.
I didn't care for the Plantation when we went, same for the Baldknobbers'.

We usually go to a breakfast buffet on our way home from Branson. Definitely do not go to Peppercorn's. There was not a great variety of food, and what food there was was cold. The restaurant was ice cold at 8:00 in the morning.
I generally don't drink coffee in the summer because the weather is too cold, but I had to drink coffee at Peppercorn's because I was freezing. We went to Starvin' Marvin's a couple of years ago. It was okay. We went to Golden Corral last year. I was talking to the omelet chef and it turned out she was originally from Illinois. You just never know who you're going to run into in Branson. The Branson Golden Corral is all right, but we have a really nice Golden Corral up here in Shiloh, Illinois that's twice as big as the one in Branson.

Oh, I take that back. We have eaten the breakfast buffet out at SDC. It was OK, but not nearly as good as Golden Corral/Grand Country. |

Sounds like we all pretty much agree on the breakfast buffets, too.
Grand Country buffet has always been great when I've been there! ![]() Golden Corral has always been very good, too. Cleanliness (or lack of) is an issue, imo.... I did notice that they had done some painting, etc. Spring 2007; but I don't know what a "season-full" of tourists may have done to the place, by now...... Plantation keeps going down hill, imo, food quality is fair/poor & the whole place needs a thorough cleaning..... Starvin' Marvin is ok/fair for the price, I don't care for the place, but my brother likes it, also, imo.....needs to be thoroughly cleaned, it must be the wood paneling soaking up the cooking grease fumes over time.....jmo.... Peppercorns was nice 10 years ago; It's looking pretty beat-up, & I think the quality of the food now is poor. && the last time I ate in there, it was so-o-o cold in there. I wonder if they do that so people will eat & get out, so they can turn-over the table quicker. Also, the last time I tried to go in there for breakfast, I could hear someone singing, trying to entertain folks. I didn't stay. Are they still doing that?Just my thoughts...... ![]() Last edited by Crazy4Branson : 04-05-2008 at 09:55 AM. |

We really like Sadies. It used to be $3.99, with drink extra.
Golden and Grand are both better and larger selections, but they are also at least twice as expensive, plus the drink is still extra. But boy are they goooooooood.
