Where We Ate!

This was a really laid back trip to Branson, so we were really 'laid back' on the restaurants too. We had eaten 'too good' for several days prior to arriving in Branson, so felt it was time to cut back!

Panera's ---- Good as always. I had 'pick 2' --- 1/2 chicken salad sandwich and a bowl of their potato soup. Best potato soup I've ever had is their soup! DH had cheesey brocolli soup and 1/2 a sandwich (don't remember what kind) Don't think you can go wrong at Paneras!

Dannas ----- I had a hamburger. For some reason I was craving a good, old fashioned burger and that's what I got. Yummy. DH had a beef sandwich plate which came with baked beans and cold slaw. As we were finishing our food I remembered that I had wanted to try to barbeque nachos
Oh well, a good reason to return to Dannas

Applebees ---- I had a shrimp/spinach salad. Very good DH had a Santa Fe Chicken Salad. He said the chicken was different than what he'd had in the same kind of salad before, but still good.

Breakfast was at Branson's Best and Whispering Hills. Pretty standard hotel breakfast food, but better than most hotel breakfasts! I'm just not a fan of the hotel breakfast!

Ahhhh....I have to disagree that the breakfast food at Branson's Best Properties is standard. I love staying at Cascades Inn, the rooms are very roomy. However, the breakfast is just a continental spread. Fine for some folks, however, my family likes a good hot breakfast and Savannah House along with her sisters have a better than most breakfast, IMHO.

If that's laid back eating, I'd like to see what you eat when you're not laid back!!

At Applebee's I always get the Santa Fe Chicken Salad too. I really liked the way they did the chicken this time. It tasted more like boiled chicken. The way they use to make it. The last few years I rarely ate the chicken because the seasoning and the chicken was dry. I LOVE that salad though! MMMMMM!!!!

Do you like the Mexi-Ranch dressing that is standard on that salad? Too hot for me and I request that they put regular ranch dressing on it ; I like that mucho better And, I have to have the cheese left out of the salad!
