What is wrong with Randy? I remember seeing him with Moe Bandy several years ago. I thought he was a very good singer.

We were told he has a brain tumor. This came from a Branson theater worker.

I've asked and haven't gotten any specific information. From what I understand, unofficially, he has serious medical problems involving a tumor. When I learn something more factual and specific I will post it here.

Thank you Bob. We will be praying for him.

Wish we lived close enough to attend the benefit. Looks like a great line up. Hope it is a huge success!!

I have to work that day so won't be able to make it - but would like to donate money to the cause as I used to work with Randy ... is there somewhere a donation can be sent? If not I will try to get with a buddy that is performing that day and see if I can get money to him to take down. (I just don't know if our schedules will match up)

Nickel, I'd suggest contacting Clay Cooper's theater. Since that is where the benefit is being held, I'd imagine that box office/theater can take a donation.
Just a suggestion.

It's sad that an event like this is necessary, but great that the performers will step up and help out. I only wish I was still in town. If it had been last Sunday I could have gone, and I definitely would have been there to see that great line-up.

Randy is suffering from a brain tumor. The prognosis is good but he is facing a lot in the way of medical treatments before he can recover.

Thanks,
Linda

Hope there was a big turn out for this event! I had to work but was able to get my pal to stop and get the money we raised at work for Randy before he headed down. I hope that it helps Randy and his family. He is in my prayers!

Hope this doesn't show up twice and if it does I apologize. The first one seems to be lost in cyberland somewhere.

There was a wonderful turn out for Randy today. When I stopped to get my ticket I had a nice little conversation with Clay who was sitting in the box office. Then I ran into Bucky at Wally World. He said that Splinter told him to rock the house and did he ever. He received a well deserved standing ovation.

Each of the entertainers did at least two songs. I can't remember who all performed but some were Bucky, Branson Brothers, Clay, Splinter, Hargus, Harley, Mickey, Kaci Bays, Susie Webber, Leona, Rickey Boen and Texas Mudd, Matt Gum Family, a bluegrass group, Buck Trent and Melody, Lori Locke and others. Tim Hill also participated.

Clay and Leona did a really cute duet together. I was impressed with the Branson Brothers Quartet. I had not gotten down to see them and was wondering how they would sound. I enjoyed the segment by the Gum Family. Heck everyone was great. Even Larry's solo brought the house to it's feet (wish I knew how to work the smileys!) The band had some of the best players in town - RP, Wayne, Bruce, Larry and others.

I got outbid on the fiddle by about $50. I think it went for $700. I stopped at $650.

Many of us regulars around town had a good time visiting with one another. It appeared a good time was had by all and it was for such a nice person. We more than got our monies worth. It started at 2 and was over right at 5 and was such a beautiful spring day.

I was in Branson today, on our way home we drove by the theater, it looked like the parking lot was full and had a good turn out! I wish I could have gone to the concert, but we needed to get back home.

There have been questions about how to contribute to the Randy Rudd benefit by those who couldn't attend the show. Clay Cooper announced that the theatre box office would continue to accept donations. Those who are out of town can mail a donation to:

Randy Rudd Benefit
c/o Clay Cooper Theatre
2215 W Hwy 76
Branson, MO 65616

Be sure to write "Randy Rudd Benefit" on the memo line of your check.
