Branson trip food review

Breakfast Friday: At the Grand Plaza hotel (free) The waffles were good. DH enjoyed the biscuits and gravy. There was also scrambled eggs, potatoes, danish, muffins, cereal, toast, english muffins, and fruit. The food was good and plentiful.

Lunch Friday: Baldknobbers buffet The sign said 4.99 lunch so we stopped to check it out. It was 7.99 and for some reason we stayed. We were quite hungry. The food was not fit to eat. It was hard and tasted like it had been warmed over all week. We were about the only ones in the place which should have told us something. We hardly ate a bite. I told the man at the checkout that they should change the sign so people would know the price was 7.99 and he was very rude. It cost DH, myself, Ds (10) Ds(6) 44.00 to eat lunch which I think is way to much for that kind of lunch. I will never go back and don't recommend anyone going there.

Supper Friday: Mazzio's take-out pizza. Very good and only 20.00 for 2 larges more than enough for our family.

Thanks! The scraping part refers to my hobby scrapbooking.

Nope, never would have guessed that, but it is a lot cleaner than messing around with chickens
I guess heard about the new scrapbook store at The Landing. Sorry, no chickens allowed

So, did he give you any reason that the sign said $4.99 and it was actually $7.99? I think it's the breakfast buffet that's $4.99, but no matter...I've never heard anything good about Baldknobbers Buffet.

Nope he said it referred to the lunch specials which the waitress never even offered. There was also only one working toilet in the ladies bathroom. The rest were stopped up. It was gross! I wish I had walked out.

Same here, I have never heard anyone like that place to eat. We had the same experience at the Plantation Buffett. It was terrible food, could have eaten alot of better places, will not go back to Plantation either.

I agree. We have not had good experiences at either of these. We also have had the same experience at Peppercorns.

The very first time we went to Baldknobbers it was pretty good...that was years ago...now another person owns it who also owns several more and they all get bad reviews...

Dittos from me about Baldknobbers; used to be good, now it's pretty bad, not even just o.k.......imo.

Dittos about Peppercorns; imo....barely o.k.; place needs to be cleaned up & refurbished......imo

Plantation has really gone down hill, either they need a new cook or some help for the one they've got; or something .........
I ate there last Nov, the place was not busy, took forever to be seated, & the waitress told me I'd have to "hurry up" because they had a bus coming in........I never did figure out what she meant by that.....food on the buffet was cold, so it didn't take me long to eat what part was edible on my plate & leave.

I don't care for Starvin Marvin's either, the place looks dirty. I think it's the old wood paneling.... My bro likes to eat there, though....

Imo...these places were much better quality restaurants 8-10 years ago. Too bad, because these used to be the type of places that were part of the "local flavor" & were "must" visits when in Branson

Now, I think this is where many bus tours dump their unsuspecting riders. & when you're on a bus tour, you usually have no other choice, unless you know the area & can run fast!!! (I'm speaking from experience)

I, too, have never heard a good review of The Baldknobbers Restaurant.
So this year is no different...they have not improved.
Valuable information, scrapingChick.
Thanks for letting us know.

I agree about Baldknobbers, Plantation and Peppercorns. They are not fit to eat. The best buffet in town is Grand Country. Food is also fresh and tasty.
